Re: Getting a late start

He still has the crawler, it is going to be used for WERock. This is the rock racer they are building. I know adam is running a 5.3 and that is about all.

Pops, I am gonna move this to tech. Keep the pics coming!

Re: Getting a late start

Well I had my doughts about my picture loading. If you can't tell the last pic is right after the first jump. We're going to try to get finished by Grayrock.Matt you pretty much said it all. We're going to try to run two cars this year.As you can tell it's rear engine,5.3,TH 350,Atlas 5.0,Spidertrax axle tubes and parts from all other kinds.Hopefully 46-47 degree steering(more info later after a test run)then we can hook you up with THE MAN.Somewhere around 103",Maxxis tires,Allied beadlocks.Trying to keep it simple so maybe it will work.Three link front and rear and if it works right,no winch.I would like to thank some folks that have helped to make this happen,Keith at The Offroad Connection,North B'ham Truck and Auto,Buggy Mike for one tough steering cylinder,Maxxis Tires and anyone else I may have forgotten.Hay that sounded pretty good, trying to get a little practice.Waiting on an oil pan so we can put it all together and finish the back half.I'll try to remember how I made the pics work and do it again.Latter Pops

Re: Getting a late start

Adam said he would never build another chassis from scratch in Harlan, and now he is starting a new one a month later!

Re: Getting a late start

Its alot of work no dought.Things just started coming together in the past couple of weeks.Once he gets it in his head its all over.Hes been tring to make it happen since we seen Ric Dermo run last year.Maybe it will happen,

Re: Getting a late start

Pops where are you getting the car pan from? Is that the only change you are making to the motor?

Re: Getting a late start

No winch? I know Hannibal saw a lot of winching last year. Might reconsider.

Re: Getting a late start

The pan we ordered is from a SS Impala.I looked under the car at Serra and it looked flatter with the pick up more in the center.Pan,pick up and screenee thing was around 280.00 We should have oil pan.radiator, gas and brake pedals Friday. Then we can finish the main frame. The axle housings will be shipped the 18th and hopefully all the outers will come in aroud the same time.If all goes right we should have it setting on its own four feet in three weeks.IF ALL GOES RIGHT.

Re: Getting a late start

I can't even imagine building something like this without a twin next to it. **** would be all banged up.

Re: Getting a late start

It's not that bad, just download a thousand pictures.Got a little more done today, waiting on axles and oil pan. Then it's welding time.

Re: Getting a late start

Looking good, any plans on bracing up the tubes that have been spliced? Definetly have your work cut out for you!
