So a group of us consisting of Bobby and Tina Long, Joe (six-nine), Richie, in a CJ-5, and Ryan in a Scout 2, among myself and Brian hit the trail up at Evans this morning. We started the morning out on the 311 a, and had to forget about 311b. We then tried for the switchbacks to go from top to below.... that resulted in Bobby plowing a trail for all of us to follow until giving up and turning around... never getting off the main road. We then attempted to take the 520, with the same pattern, this time Brian leading the way. After plowing in about 100 feet, I was soaked from all the snow being flung off the tires. I decided to get in Joes jeep and dry up while Brian plowed away..... here is the video footage of how that ended... also some pics from the rest of the day. Needless to say, the snow was DEEP.

Damn driveline disconnect flange nut keeps coming loose.... broken winch line, and a very tired engine that broke an alternator mount... all results of this image.

I was a fun day. It was kinda hard on my poor engine as it doesnt have much power so i had to rap it out till it wouldnt go anymore to cut trail. It took two hours to go a 1/4 of the way down the 520 coming from the camp site. The snow was very deep.I would back up 30' hit it full throttle and get 10' further. I had fun but it is quite a work out cuttin trail. In that last video you can here the alternator bracket rattling away.

For Christ's sake Joe! Haven't you heard? ...... Chains don't work in the snow.:looser:

:flipoff:

You're snow was deeper than ours @ Reiter. Looks like a fun day.:awesomework:
HA ha, they worked fine...I only used the pair that would stay on and put one on the front and one opposite on the the rear:fawkdancesmiley:

We followed in behind you guys for a while but the wait caused us to bail on you. We had already done the 102 trail and it was a blast. We crossed the road at the top of 102 and hit 198 for about a 1/2 mile. We made it just fine until the hill got too steep. I had to back up about 100 yards to find flat enough ground to get a run. I'd go about 50' and have to back up again. After about 1/2 hour I gave up and looked for another trail. That's when we caught up with your group.

We punched through for about an hour longer after you turned around. The snow just got deeper the further we went. The sami was getting tired so i finally gave up.
