I'm going to be making a flatbed for my Toyota in the coming months and I was just wondering what a good size and thickness of square tubing is good to use. Obviously I want it to be strong, but at the same time I want it to not be too heavy. Any suggestions?

This is essentially the flatbed I'm going to build but mine will be a little different:

*yeah yeah i know it's an overly copied design

I did 2"x3"x1/8" on the outside frame. It is all welded to two short peices of 2"x4"x1/4" tube frame over the frame rails.

I belive you can make square tube flatbeds, bumpers, and sliders look quite good if you are carefull and know what you are doing, but trying to make exos or roll cages out of square is obvisly not going to look very good at all.
