This is a slow build as i drive it deal. After fighting my toyota for a year i gave up on it. The new owner hasn't had any luck keeping it going either so i dont feel bad. I've totaled every cherokee i've had so i settled for building a family wheeler out of my wifes pathfinder. I've got three kids so this is how it has to be. I started with a 1990 4 door se 3.0 v6 5 speed.
what i want it to be: sas'd on 35'' tires , dana 44 waggy axle, 7 inches of lift max, winch on the front, partial cage (fender bars, sliders , rear tube bumper, front stinger) , street legal for the most part. Sounds reasonable and affordable for a family on a budget.
What it is right now: Ifs , 4.63 gears, homemade sliders, homemade rear tube, 33 inch pro comp tires on 51 crawler's, 14 inch travel shocks , cut off sway bars , 3 inch body, cherokee coils on rear, oddysey dry cell, and this week (tax money) its getting a 8000lb shittybuilt winch ($283 dollars new with free shipping from WWW.winchdepot.com ) the sas kit ( i will put on this summer ) and a front bumper.
OKay so make fun off the nissan or say what you think about it as i go. its a slow process as i work alot but it'll get done.:redneck:

And more pics including my ghetto rti oil ramps designed specifically for nissans 7 inch travel ifs front end. The one pic is near flexed out on the rear but i will droop another two inches and the spring will fall out ( as i learned at walker saturday) Limiting straps are now on my list.:awesomework:

So you swapped in the 4.63 gears or the manual tranny? All manuals, and some automatics, until the newer generation rigs came with 4.38 gears in the diffs. So you'll be going SUA with 44044s and leaving the body lift for the desired 7" of lift? Or pulling that out and going SOA on stock Waggys?

Looking forward to seeing this build, a buddy and I recently swapped a D44 under my Hardbody pickup and it's been really fun, hopefully it will continue that way as there's still TONS to do with the rest of the truck:awesomework:

I was thinking spring over axle, pull the body lift and 4.56 on the 44 . I may swap the rear also as i found a rear disc 44. The code on the tag (under the hood ) reads as it has 4.63's according to the nissan guys in az . I swapped nothing myself but i had the gears out and thats 'bout what they are.

Hey,I'd hold off on the winch; Another buddy ordered one about a month ago, and STILL hasn't seen it(at least as of Friday):eeek: They keep giving him the :squirrel: -might see about spendin a couple extra bucks and gettin one right away....maybe a T-maxx(hardware sales)? heard good things about 'em-

I was slightly worried about that. I figured they might be back ordered a ways at that price. Yeah i like that yellow offroad t max. It just doesnt match my rig.:booo:

I think building a Pathfinder is a great idea. Because I have always liked Nissans over toyotas I always loved the idea to build one. I had a 1988 with 303xxx miles(I put another 100k mi. on it)that I redneck lifted 4" and took to Moab in 1998, it did great for a DD with 33" Dunlops. I have always wanted to do the Pathfinder build with 8-9" of lift with coil-overs, and 38" tires D60 front and rear. It will have to wait for now.

I've just always been a fan of different. Now i have kids and i cant frankenstien a truck together so ill do it to an suv. I butchered a mazda and a k5 blazer together a few years back and it was just cool to have what no one else did. I know there are other nissan's but they are in different countys and barely many in this state that are sas'd.

competition series t-max is here

Well , despite the bright yellow this t-max 9000 seams to be nothing less than bad ass. It comes with 80 ft of synthetic rope, wireless remote, hawse fairlead, spare batteries, all cables necessary to install as well. And as always bellinghams hardware sales gave me a killer deal and i didn't have to wait for it to arrive.

I see you went for it!!!:awesomework: Gonna paint to match the rig?:corn:
Sounds like you got a pretty good deal.....:cheer:

Nope gonna leave it ugly yellow. I think its growing on me. I still have to finish the supports that will go through the core support in the stock holes that were there and then put some tube to the sides to rap over to my sliders. It was a pain in the arse to put install. Someone in japan thought it would be cool if the body sat 3 inches forward of the frame. That same idiot thought that the frame should bend downward slightly. This is a big design flaw. How much of a stock pathfinder gets f'd up in a front end collision compared to a 4runner where the frame is even or past? Ill find comparison pics! The winch has a boomer box with all wiring headed into it so its a bitch to mount. I extended the leads and put it inside the truck as i couldn't find anywhere besides the under hood that it would fit. Under the hood would not allow it to disperse heat so i was against that. I had to build out the frame to get my plate mounted and that was the biggest pain in my ass. Any way its on , it awesome and im done bitchin about it.:redneck:
