best$ on coilovers

Where is everyone finding the best price on coilovers?

I need a pair of 14" reservoirs with dual rates and springs and the best price I am finding is $890 on FOA and $1000. on SAW.

This is what I have for sale. Try bugsnbuggies.com and look at SAWs
One new shock never charged, was a floor model so has minor scraches, nothing bad. 14" travel 2.5" body w/ heim ends
Dual Coilover hardware for 2 shocks. SAW brand stuff, New.
4 eibach 3" springs, 2 16" 250s and 2 10" 150s, Springs are used but in good shape.

This is almost $1000 worth of stuff, and most of it is new.

Hmmm...

won't work for the front with the attached reservoir, but possibly for the rear if I redo the mounts a bit.

I think for the front I am going ballistic fab shocks. Same price as SAW's but the quality looks better.
Plus, I have bought from them a couple of times before and they have always taken care of me.

Quality look's better? Look's like a black knock off to me, Unless you are finding internal pics I can't find, I have the feeling it's the price that look's better.

No, actually the price was within $20 either way.

anyone that knows me, knows I will pay more for better quality. I am not cheap, I just want fair value.

besides, Like I said, I have dealt with them before and they do whatever they can to make sure you are happy.

How long have Ballistic Fab been designing and manufacturing shocks and such?

With companies like King, Fox and SAW that have been doing this for years and have tested and refined their products throughout the industry what makes you go with a new comer?

from what I gather, they have been in shocks for a while, but on a custom order, high end basis.

they now have a local machine shop to do the mass production side of it. They still do the custom stuff.

they are completely rebuildable and have high temp seals and built in bumps.

They have shipped, we will see on Friday

Actaully, it ia a very fair comparison if you look at the fact that almost each of the issues we are reffering to, leaking shock seal, and some sort of factory recall, can typically be attributed to a single part that has a quality issue that was missed either from a supplier or on the manufacturing line.

It really is very simple.

Another thing to consider is that as your production quantities go up and you have more and more customers using your product you will find that the failure rate will go up as well.

For example:
E-moli in Canada makes Lithium-Ion battery cells, they have a 1 in 1 million failure rate, the company I used to work for purchased and used so many of their cells that we always ended up with that 1 in 1 million cell that fails in one of our products that is returned by a customer with a problem.

What spring rates you going with front & rear?

What's your Jeep weigh?

rear is at 200/250 has been for a while. Had 150/250 and it was too soft.

front going with 200/300. I want the front a bit heavier springs so I can play in the dunes a bit.

14" travel ft and rear

Jeep weighs 4700 lbs loaded.

From what ive read Ballistic shocks are made my a guy in phoenix that does all kinds of trick shock work, Mainly desert stuff. He used to work for king or saw or something.
