I finally got around to buying a winch for my truck. I've had the winch bumper on it for over two years and figured enough is enough. My brother (notMatt) so kindly let me use his garage so I wouldn't have to install the winch outside in the single-digit temperatures. When I installed the bumper many moons ago, I cut the frame mounts out of it and trimmed them about 3 or 4 inches and rewelded them back in place so the bumper didn't stick out a so far. This meant I had to cut a hole in the grill to make room for the winch, and surprisingly my measurements on the bumper placement worked out just right. Now I just have to install the cable, I'm sure that'll be another two years....

Get That Damn Cable Installed! Are You Crazy?!?!

I just got the cable on and went to start the truck and it wouldn't start. It cranks over and its getting fuel, sounds like it wants to start. I took the charcoal canister off before I put the cable on so maybe I screwed something up there?

You probably unplugged or jostled the CPS connector.

Is this going to be the thread where you document your 1-ton swap too? Where's the pics of your rear 60? :D

I'll check the CPS as soon as I get motivated to go back out in the cold.

When the time comes I'll document the one-ton swap here. There isn't much to show with the 60 yet, I guess I could prop the disc brake brackets on it and take a picture.

Dove'd !

I picked up 60 feet of tube and got to work on my cage this week. Ofcourse the weather turned to crap. My brother and I have had our bender for a couple years and I hadn't used it until now. I was very impressed at how well it works. I bent up the rear hoop first and tried stuffing it in the cab and broke some of the plastic off the steering column and cracked the windshield right away. Oh well, not a real big loss.

All the bending is done and most of it is tacked in place. Now I'm waiting on the cage feet that I ordered from diy4x.com. After drilling all the holes for the feet, I'll drop the legs of the cage through the holes in the floor and finish weld it and add a bar above the dash, door bars and some bracing.

Very nice lookin:awesomework:

I take it the 60's havent changed much since I seen em last at Matt's?:haha:

Matt's been working on tearing his 60 down. I'm still looking for a front 60 and I'm hesitant to do any work to the rear I have incase I come across a matched set. So yeah, basicly I put the hubs back on and it sits just the same as you saw it last.
