the first kit looks the best TO ME. an incorporated shock mount is a plus aswell.

ok, tell me, who makes the better kit, are you making your own...what works, what doesnt?? any others out there?

i like the first one best personally, because your shock is not loading off one side of the bolt, my friend has the "off to one side" bracket, and he hates it, the bolt comes loose from the constant bumping of the susp. The first one doesn't allow for that sort of travel. :awesomework:

the first gusset datinfab. is just like the trail gear ones, not a bad design i have installed a few sets of those and a few sets from marlin, they both work fine, i personaly have marlin gussets and i have never had a bolt loosen on me... maybe because my gussets came with nylocks nuts:rolleyes:

take yur pik:haha:

or make your own..

Make sure the upper gusset ties into the spring perch. There was a picture on Pirate of a cut knuckle and tube that showed the importance of a long gusset, rather than a short one.

Here it is, housings usually start to bend by the red arrow

thats good to know, thanks.

so its the housing that bends? i was under the assumption it was the knuckle end itself.

but...i can see the housing bending just past the gusset(if its too short), once the knuckle is reinforced.

Look at the thickness of metal where the red arrow is, compare that to the thickness of the knuckle ball. The formed sheetmetal tubes bend.

I have the Marlin style without the shock mount and right after I got mine I found the FROR ones. I like them the best. I like the triangulation. To me they seem to be the strongest. I just made seperate shock mounts in double shear on each side of the gussets.

DATIN sells trail gear stuff and is actually one of the companies that originally made a lot of Allpro's, Marlins and now Trail gears stuff.
