Dirty 30's Birfield kit

They were selling Bobbys through their website for a while, and advertised them as true Longfields for the same price as Bobbys website. I wonder if its the same kind of thing, but with their own name on it now? Theyre just selling his product for him, and putting their own name on it. Kind of like Napa and Car Quest do with a bunch of ****. Its not CRC brake clean, its Car Quest brake clean - until you read the can and it says manufactured by CRC for Car Quest, haha.

Or, maybe they just sent some off to have them copied and reverse-engineered while they were selling his.

They tried that!

It wasnt as profitable as chinese axles for jap trucks. It was only a matter of time.

Sad part is theres no room to make a buck on bobs stuff. Its pointless to sell it, just send them to bobby.

In the waranty info it states you have to use Bobbys hub gears to qualify for coverage.:corn:

No not true. If you break a stock hub gear and strip the splines on the birf it's not warrantyed because the birf did not break, do to another part failing. If you break the birf or the inner axle any other way then it is covered. Now if you break our hub gear and damage the birf they are both covered.

I was talkin out may ass about the TG birfs, not yours!

I was sayin you had to run your hub gear on thier axles for them to cover thier axles. I was just makin **** up. they didnt state anything about needing your hubs for thier axle, although it would be funny if they did!:haha:

oh i missed that now i feel dumb

Keep readin!:corn: you missed more than that!:beer:

I sure hope that them selling these doesnt effect Bobby's business, thats all I really have to say about it. It would be interesting to see the test results on them though.

Last I heard China didn't make a 4340 steel. They had their own "equivilants" like Chinese #45 etc.

I wouldn't trust them. I broke 1 and twisted 2 sets of TG's rear "chromoly' shafts. One set had 3 comps on them, the other set had 1 comp and several trail runs...The wheel flanges also got all bent.

They were weaker than stockers IMO.

Longs all the way:awesomework:

I'll buy other parts from TG but when it comes to cases its Marlin and when it comes to axles why bother with anyone but the proven longfields.

Now my question is they're breaking point was only at 30*. So do they only turn to 30* or is that as far as they could go to get breaking numbers comparable to Bobbys?:corn:

i think that means shaft twist, not turning radius....

edit: n/m i stand corrected....i think:eeek:

everyone has been trying to get a piece of Bobbys action since way back. That, and his customer service compared to tg is why they are a hundy less. I bet they wont be selling them by the end of the year.

Two Trail Gear "Dirty 30" birfield shafts were tested tonight at Longfield Superaxles. There were 12 witnesses.

Test 1 results: 41 degree twist, 6000lbs, inner star broke, inner splines stripped.

Test 2 results: 44 degree twist, 6200lbs, inner star broke, inner splines stripped.

A stock Toyota birfield breaks at @4200 lbs.

The test were done turned 35degrees, same as Bobbys axles.

This was an unbiased destructive test, almost every witness has bought or used TG products.
