So we all were having a great day of wheeling and then we get to the start of the Rynoland trail. That's where the "oh my gods!!!" start coming out of everyones mouths.

Someone took a FEW HOURS to cut up many logs that had been set up to control trail traffic.

Probably 2 TRUCK LOADS of wood was taken, with lots more just sitting there all cut up into rounds. The logs were placed with large cables tying them together, making it obvious what the logs were there for.

Now I made the suggestion of a large Reward for information, we'll see where that goes. With as much time as was taken and the noise of chainsaws cutting for that long SOMEONE has to have seen something. Or knows something.

Man, I am glad I left before seeing that. A lot of hard work by a number of people went into setting up those blocks to preserve the correct path of that trail.

I agree, someone must have seen something going on there and should report it.

I vandalized someones back door this weekend as well as ran the chainsaw for a few hours on Sat. whilst @ Reiter..........hmmmmmm:D

Until the roads to our trail heads can be closed to 2wd pickups--this crap is going to happen... I personally have been working and trying to get them to do something about it. But its an uphill battle--then again I probably aint doing my job right :awesomework:

Kinda like the gate with the shoefly just past the first pit---alot of good that does IMO...

Well maybe this is a good subject to bring up at the next RTW Meeting with David Way if he is able to make it.

It is total bullshit to have all the work people do to maintain the trail undone by a few assholes.

Not to mention--its not wheelers doing it--thats whats even more agrevating.

Well I think we will disagree on this one Crash.

I don't have a clue to who is doing it, but I would be much more pissed and aggravated if we found out it was Wheelers doing it as they know better and understand better what is there.

Yes I understand all do not agree with blocking by-passes, but in the long run it is what is best for the sport and helps to placate DNR which we MUST Do, or lose everything.

There are ALOT of locals that don't like what Reiter has become. And they don't care (or realize) that what they do affect's other ORV user's. These problems with these individuals won't be solved.....they can ONLY be mitigated.

Like with the two bags of trash I picked up on Saturday......I EXPECT to see more next weekend, and you can GUARANTEE I'll pick it all up, again.

You fix the trail, they un-fix the trail. This is the game we play. Neither side wins.

Such is life.......

Well said.

when we were at reiter last with the 24 hour endurance race 2 dudes in a black dodge dakota were cutting wood in the rock garden, we thought they were with the moto guys and then realized they were cutting wood, the dude back his truck up at the finish line of the moto guys and they bitched him out, we figured they got his licence and figured they would come back later and get the wood?

More vandalism

Nice winch work at May creek too...this was the scene last weekend (08.02.09)

I was wondering why they left the lifting eyes on those blocks. You should ALWAYS cut them off after placement, just makes it harder for someone to move.

Oh, yea them logs that got cut. I have some special chainsaw stuff that I/we could do to not have them cut up.

Was the bed crushed on one side?

Obviously those blocks were moved by reit-ards......anyone with a decent rig would just crawl over them and be on their way.

If you don't have a clue who is doing it why would you assume that it's a fellow wheeler?

Maybe you don't know but there are tons of shitheads that go "out to the woods" (Reiter) They think it's out in the middle of know where, probably saw some logs off the side of the road and started cutting them up.

That's not illegal, anyone can cut fallen timber so long as they have permits.

If you weren't a "wheeler" you most likely wouldn't realize that wood was in a road, because your concept of a road would not be what yours or mine is.

So chill the **** out, **** happens, yes it sucks peoples work got ripped apart after a few days, Welcome to Reiter.

As for the "chainsaw stoping" ideas, I would find it hard to believe that Mike would condone that sort of thing. Even asshats have rights, if they loose any eye or arm or whatever because of eco-terrorism and find out who was the culprit (not too hard after all the announcements you cherries made) you will go to jail, and the guy who was cutting up your logs will be laughing all the way back out to Reiter with the newer bigger saw purchased with your money.

Maybe next time you guys should put up a "please don't **** with our attempt at keeping order out here by not cutting up these logs designed to direct traffic through the trees" sign or something.

Pointing the finger at "other" user groups is just plain childish as well as counter productive.

I have a question, But a disclaimer first.

You will never catch me going past ecology blocks at reiter. Ever.

What kind of fine is incurred by moving the blocks, Or being caught driving past them after they have been moved? Or driving over them for that matter?
