I got tired of ripping off my mufflers. Also sick of body damage, so I figured I'd take care of both problems at the same time. I'm sure Phillbilly, and others I have joked with, will have fun with this buld-up. Oh well, I can take it. After I finish these, tube fenders, and grill gaurd are next.:redneck:

You're gonna be "**** of the day" when someones kid grabs hold of that.:scratchhead:

The tubes that go from the slider to the frame, is that all open on the inside? It's hard to tell where the exhaust ties into it... My only concern is moisture getting in there and running to your frame...

The tubes going to the frame are butted to the side of the exhaust DOM. No exhaust will travel to the frame.

A lot of people are mentioning burnt legs etc. I might split a peice of tubing, and make a sheild, although it would get banged up, and I don't know how well it would work.

that is stupid as hell. there are so many things stupid about this idea i dont know where to begin... I think u should route the exhaust through the heater vent, point vent at your face, drive in garage, shut door and rev the **** outta this thing that would be a way better sysem:awesomework:

:haha::haha: come on was all that called for??

Seriously though. You are gonna burn the **** out of yourself or others with that design. Maybe you do not care. I don't know that. Would the constant hot-cold-hot-cold..... ruin the integrity of the steel also?

Although it would look cool with flames shooting out!:awesomework:

Why don't you just shorten the flex tube a bit, then route the exhaust ABOVE the sliders (between the body and the tubes)---if you have to squish the pipe a bit to fit it, it'd be better than the current setup, and safer!!!....:awesomework:

****, these nancys obviously couldnt ride a harley in shorts! :haha:

Or a banshee with cool drag pipes. Cool comes with all kinds of sacrifice.

You should reconsider.

1st, you'll have exhaust venting right near your seat. And at trail speeds, you'll be smelling exhaust all day long. Big headache. Big nausia.

2nd, that pipe will be smokin' hot. You'll burn your shins for sure.

3rd, without the protection of the frame or body, you'll risk being a fire starter in tall grass, or as you trail thru tight brush.

4th, it increase chances that some bystander will get burned as they try and sneak pass you when you're all stuck behind some obsticle, and they want to get ahead to look-see.

5th, every time you want to crawl underneath to take a peak at something, you'll not have anything to grab as you climb under and as you climb back out, because you're body edge is a exhaust pipe.

and on, and on, and on.

Do yourself a favor, build a body protection separate from the exhaust, and go to a quality exhaust guy and have him route the (dedicated) exhaust away from all crap that'll bash it.

but if you don't, at least dig this thread out of the trash in a few months and tell us how it's working out for ya. 'Cause I'll be the first to say "It could work" (but it sure don't look promising) (And put a plug in that front end)

O.K. Phillbilly I will incorperate some triangulation.:awesomework:

Runnerover also has some great ideas. Since the front of the tubing is still open maybe I will run a hose off of that, and tuck it into my shirt, or pants to help keep me warm since I don't run a windsheild, or much of a top.
