So im putting a fuel cell in my toy with a 22re. what kind of fuel pump will i need? what kind of pressure dose it need? dose it need flow back? ya ya stupid ? but i dont know .

Airetex E2000 inline external fuel pump. I just did this swap and it works great.

Autozone will have one in stock with a one year warranty for about $110.

Thanks brad. anyone alse have any input???

What Brad said....

The E2000 is a frame mounted fuel pump used as a secondary pump on some ford truck/van applications and is a perfect fit for the 22RE. You can find them in practically every auto parts store.

For the return, use the exsisting return line and hook it up to your fuel cell.

For fuel pressure, this pump is perfect to use with your stock regulator.

sweet thanks. now should i mount a inline filter to take place of the stock one in the tank. should i mount the pump closer to the cell or motor? should i use the stock fule lines?

Closer to the tank, yes to the inline filter BEFORE the pump but make sure it does not have a paper element and use the stock fuel lines as that makes it much easier.... :awesomework:

They have a 3/8 fitting on the inlet side and a 5/16 on the outlet side.

The stock hipressure line right before your block mounted filter will fit very tightly on the outlet barb and make it an easy hookup. Mount it on the frame rail behind your motormount.

Then use 3/8 hose to feed it (I used 2wire/4000psi hydro hose on mine) from the cell or the stock steel line.

Be sure to put a PREfilter on the feed line before the pump. Any debris insode the pump is bad bad juju.

I had a pump off another 22re fuel cell rig and it broke one end off and the spring shot out and was full of nasty fuel cell foam and bits of crap from not having a prefilter.

Here is the nasty foam in the pump spring. Fuel cell foam is the devil.

is hydro hoze fuel rated? i thought it gets spongy and breaks down?

Its work fine so far. I have used in several times over the last 15 years with no problems.

I have used it for steering, tranny, fuel, diesel etc.

The guys at Williams told me it would be fine ten years ago when I had a line crimped up for a friends race car. He is still racing with the same hoses.
