Sometime around February I decided I would finally start clearing, and making room for the garage I always hoped to build. The plan was to build another garage, next to my existing garage, so I would have a nice area to start a buggy project. I figured I would build one from the start, bending my own tube, and fabin' my own chassis. ----well that changed a little in mid March, when I found a friend of some friends buggy project on craigslist.
Now the urgency to get the new garage built is greater than ever. The buggy project is in my existing garage, and the Willy's has been under a tarp in the yard. - - - - and so it begins...

Here is a pic of the lean-to/mudhole that the previous owner built. Its gotta go.

After multiple dump loads, seven loads of mud hauled out, and about 7 loads of good fill, I laid out the footprint, and dug the footings, and ran some drainaige. Then I rented some forms, and poured the stem walls.
Now I am starting to frame it up. 24'x40' on 4 foot stem walls 3.5' above grade, and 10 foot 2x4 walls with attic trusses to come.

why not just rip down the old one and do over ?

I thought about it, but for my budget, and plans for the future I am happy with this decision. Plus there where permit issues.
It will work out for the best. In the long run the existing garage will be cleaned up nice, and be insulated to hold the wifes rat rod, and the Willy's.

ty whats up with the little fort or dog house ..do a write up on it...the old saloon..its neat .

Yea, that was the dog house I built. Complete with swinging doors, and a heated dog bed.. I ended up demoing it. Not sure what the next one will be.

So this last week, I got some more framing done.:D ---Also getting some staging up to help with setting the trusses.

God 9/12 pitch... F that. The roofer is going to love you... and your wallet.

One good thing about a steep roof is you dont need gutters... the rain comes down so fast it misses them anyway.

Shop looks good man... I just dont like steep roofs cause im a big baby.
