4th Annual Twin Lakes (Whatcom Co.) Snow Run!

Just went over white pass (highway 12) and its snowing pritty good at 4500 ft.....:cheer::bananallama:

Well looking at the latest models don't bode too well for the 12th... On the one hand, if the wet system draws cold air from up north, and if enough precip makes it north (the system is coming into the south), it'd make for some WONDERFUL conditions on the 12th.

Since the forecasts are looking so inconsistent, I'm moving the date back to TBD. The 19th is now looking better, especially if the wed, thur, fri systems are as cold and wet as the models are expecting them to be.

Update! Here is a photo of Yellow Aster Butte from yesterday.

There is enough snow to make the switchbacks difficult, so the 12th is still on. We also have a few people who cannot make the 19th.

However!
We have some people who cannot make it the 12th, so we will ALSO BE GOING THE 19th!

Additionally, it looks like the systems coming through this week, and especially later this week, will give some good snowfall -- and there is a chance that the weekend will be partly sunny, but not much confidence.
