The trans is a th400 in a Bns chassis.

What is the thing with wires on the back side of the autometer manifold?

is it hooked to the trans or the engine? the one into the block looks like a cable? could it be for an oil accumulator?

Mechanical and electric temp sensors. One for the gauge and one for the fan would be my guess.

I would follow the wires and see where they go. :awesomework:

One reason I have it is to wire it up :redneck: Can't follow whats not there :redneck:

Thats my thinking

If you get the good Derale trans cooler with fan it has that thermoswitch and coupler included.

Hard parts already installed--just trying to figure out what is what...

The temp gauge sender is in the anodized block and the thermo switch is in the small, natural fitting.

I wire my thermoswitch into a dash light also so it signals when cooling fan is on.

Ya I could tell by the wire going to the gauge :redneck:

I never thought of doing it to the light since I think I will mount mine under the chassis so I might not be able to hear it when it runs.

Exactly, the noise of the rig, trail, other rigs, ect make it tough to hear.
I wire all important sensors to a light as when they need monitored most we are usually concentrated on the driving task at hand.
