DF Fabrication in CAAny do a weld up yourself chassis ? Like a chassis in a box ?
They do but not really popular.
You still making chassies / rigs ? Uncle Tito is one of my fav rigs around the SE.
IMO, your better off getting a fully welded out chassis. It also protects the chassis company.Any do a weld up yourself chassis ? Like a chassis in a box ?
I'm pretty confident I can assemble it and my cousin will weld it out. He works for a industrial fab shop and is their head welder.IMO, your better off getting a fully welded out chassis. It also protects the chassis company.
Having a jig or a good weld table is as important as the welding.I'm pretty confident I can assemble it and my cousin will weld it out. He works for a industrial fab shop and is their head welder.
It's going to be trail/hill climbing. Nothing too extreme at this point. Are you wanting a bouncer or trail rider? what's your plans for motor axles all that stuff.
Thank you!Jimmy Smith still builds chassies.

Thank you for the feedback! Definitely going to be a trial/ light hill climbing right now.Depends on what you want. IMO Partially Committed Racing (PCR) is the best trail rig/ U4 capable chassis platform on the market at this time. It's got plenty of room for activities.
Their chassis is CNC bent/ notched. So the fitment is nice.
I've got 3 PCR roller projects now including @extremetownie I'll try and share some pictures as we progress further. I'll do a build thread on mine hopefully starting in 2023.
If you're looking for full on rock racer, you want to look at reject fab. Their racers records speak for themselves.
Obviously other great options in the south east. It would be more helpful to share what style of rig you prefer and want to build.

Bomber Fab does tooGoatBuilt, BentFab and Fabn801 do.
Does he let you buy them unwelded ?Bomber Fab does too
nothing? I just knew you were working on Damon's. Guess it isn't one of your chassis.Yeah I'm finishing up a build on a goatbilt chassis, not sure what that has to do with building new ones?
I think he's still offering the chassis in a box kit from time to time.Does he let you buy them unwelded ?
I thought you had to get them tacked at the very least ?
Good looking chassis! My new RCM Fab chassis coming together View attachment 208444
