Torq 14 bolt rear axle questions

Anyone have any experience with the Torq 14 bolt rear axle? Yea, yea...they screwed Doug over. I am not trying to re-hash that shitshow.

Curious if anyone has dealt with Torq recently, are they still in business? Anyone have one of their axles, purchased new 3rd members, etc?

I am not interested in buying a new axle from them. Just curious how much support there is for an existing axle.

I dont know personally but someone was discussing it in one of the facebook groups recently. i'll look and see if i can find the post. I can't remember which one it was off hand.

A friend has one and talked with them recently within the last month or so. He said they are still wide open producing parts. Id be leary of it though and would be trying to get rid of it in exchange for standard 10" stuff if it was mine.

They are still open - making thirds and supporting the business. From what I gather - three sides to every story and they have one too. Agreed not to bring up that **** - but I have a torque super 14b- **** is pure beef and was glad to have someone to talk too and know they are available for tech /parts if need be

Thanks for the info.

This particular axle was under a buggy I was considering buying, but it was out west and sold local before I could get my act together on it.

I talk to them fairly often and still making axles and selling parts. great people just the internet unloaded on them.

I have their axles and like someone said above. A LOT of strength!!!

So the internet shouldn't have unloaded on them for taking money for a product, but never delivering the product that money was exchanged for???

What are you racing in Legends (ie Team Name/Number etc)?

I don't understand making fancy housings for standard one ton truck parts... Either get race car stuff, or truck stuff.

14 bolts diffs are stronger than 10" diffs.

I'd say that is debatable. The 14 bolt is popular bc in it's OEM form, the diff is strong and the housing itself is strong. The 9" differential and aftermarket 10" option is strong but the factory housing in the off-road world is weak. So for an economical tough factory platform, the 14 bolt is superior.

Once you move to aftermarket, the 9/10 platform shines bc of the massive amount of support for the platform. Thirds, housings, gear sets, etc. are extremely more vast.

The drop out 14 bolt has all but crashed and burned. If it was a better platform, you would see them under every trophy truck, pro 2/ pro 4 out there.

I was literally talking about the differential itself being stronger than the 9/10" one.
The 14 bolt diff is much bigger than the 9" platform (ring gear ID).
That's it.

Stock for stock, 14b is the king.
Aftermarket? 10" is the all superior world emperor.

I seriously doubt any part of that Mason third member has anything to do with a 14 bolt.

Top TT teams are using Mason, Tubeworks and Gearworks.

The 9/10 and 14 bolt ring and pinion set up is the same design. Short pinion with 3 bearings.

Yes a 14 bolt has a larger ring gear but you cannot control deflection in factory form.

Yes the torq 3rd member design had load bolts just like many 9/10 3rd members.

If we're comparing factory set ups, 14 bolt all day. Once you venture into aftermarket, the 14 bolt gets left behind. Both are awesome in their own ways.
