I had a black box behind a 300hp 5.0 t-18 and i never had any problems out of it. I belive it was rated at 1000hp or something like that, but they are high $$$ 1800. but that was 4-5 yrs ago. If you got the funds a 3-4 spd tcase is the best (toughest ) option.

Here's a pic of my Turbo setup..... I'm going to thermal coat the inside of my piping and ceramic coat the exterior. But first I'm flapper wheeling all the welds and smoothing everything up to look nice...
