Yeah that part did suck but it did give me time to do the other sight seeing I never got to do. Camping next to the water and not having anyone else around was awesome! I'll be going back in the spring hopefully.

I camped at Helen's for many many years. Just thinking about camping next to that creek puts me to sleep at night. Alot of memories there for sure.

Next time yall camp up there on the Tellico Plains side, there are a lot of COOL hiking trails goin up the left side of the big waterfall :dblthumb:

The entry trail is that series of little bridges at the end of the little parking lot on the right if yer goin towards Green Cove.

I went WAY back up in there one day :o

And trout hatchery is always cool to visit as well.

Hey Scot, do you have a picture of the on the top of the mountain that is shaped like the Cherokee Chiefs head? I do, but it is a poor 35mm shot. That thing was cool. I think it was on the top leaving Upper 2. :dunno:

No, is that the one in the middle of the trail we drove around and could scrape yer pass door on it :dunno:

Heres a pic of me & some friends up on the big waterfall "I,m the one in the middle", this is the waterfall I was talkin bout hiking up the left side of :dblthumb:

I can,t find my damn box of 4x6 pics from camping at Crawfords >:(

I've stayed at Crawfords,Helens,Green Cove and camped out more times than I can remember just to enjoy riding the trails at Telico. Of all the places I've been this was the place that I enjoyed the most. I sure wish it would open back up again! Just riding the trails from climb to climb was great while the climbs were a bonus.

:gay: I'm pretty pissed about that, **** those trout. Trout and "THEIR not OUR" water/habitat is the reason Tellico got closed. Whatever happened to humans being the dominant species? Relocate the damned trout and let's go wheelin'! :driving:

What I would give to be stuck on them trails ALL DAY again...
miss it.

agreed.. a bud spent 14 hours on top of schoolbus, while we ran for parts, then we blew a birfield on the return trip, had to carry parts the rest of the way up to him in the dark, while the birfield was being fixed. have all kinds of similiar stories... I really miss Tellico, man we had a blast out there in the years we ran it.. those pics really bring back good memories...
