Bet you thought this might be interesting but probably not....

I got a 98 suburban it keeps blowing starter relays. Turn the key to on the dash lights up like it should turn the key to start and pop, starter relay is blown.... The whole cab goes dead lights out. Put in a new starter and starter silinoid and new relay thinking maybe the starter overheated... turn the key on dash lights up, turn to run boom blown relay... it doesnt blow any fuses just the starter relay....

Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys in advance

Grr... I have been tracing wires in the engine bay to no avail... Google doesnt seem to know what else is on that circut so I can know where else to look.

throw a new battery in it and see what happens. sometimes they will short out internally and once you apply load they start blowin ****

More info, what engine? 4x4? 1500?

Find your loose connection, it'll do it again.

Assuming it is a 5.7 automatic 4x4 1500, here's the starting diagram, hope it helps.

You called it perfect. Thanks for the diagram. I will print it off and start going through it before it leaves my wife stranded again. Where did you find the diagram at?

Man do they get pissed when their **** breaks down. >:( I had a lady today that swore up and down that her "friend" had put a new brand new battery in her car and that it should be fine, tested 180 CCA and a date sticker from april 2007. When I pointed that out she says "do you see my nostrils flaring!" molaugh
