Rockwells in LOW buggies

Nobody has said anything about Little Tim Bacon's buggy. It was low on Rockwells.
Mine with rocks was 5'9"to the highest point with 22"of belly clearance to the lowest point and 3" of headroom with a helmet on, 6" of uptravel at 125" wheelbase, worked well with no clearance issues at all.

120" wheelbase, 23" belly, 74" top of cage, 44" boggers, 8" uptravel. It would be shorter but I'm 6'9" tall.

Alot of these are low but most of them have the lowers triangulated which lowers the roll center height alot. I would like to see some 4 link calculators posted on these setups. Its easy to make one low with triangulated lowers but it works a whole lot better to have them nearly straight and the upper angled. Mine is 69 to top of cage with 22.5 belly but its been a nightmare getting 6 inches of uptravel with my uppers 11 inches from the center.

usually the heavy axles and tires offset a lot of the negative side effects of a really low roll center.

I have a few but its not sitting on its on yet so I really can't claim it til its sittin on its own weight. Its my first buggy so that makes it worse on me. I think my roll center height is around 34 with 0 degrees of roll oversteer for the front the rear should be easier. Shock clearance will be my issuse. I'll try to post pics of what I got when i get a chance they are on the shop computer.

This rig is gonna be awesome. I really like the lines and it looks like it is gonna sit pretty low for the rockwells. I cannot wait to see the finished product, keep up the good work.

72" inches top of cage, 24" inches of belly clearance , 7" inches up travel

A couple of spy shots of my work in progress. For comparison, the samurai has 1.5" lift and is on 30s. The buggy is at ride height with 24" under the belly and 69" to the highest tube. Gonna change the windshield tubes and already redid the propane tank mounts....

He had it for sale toward the end of last year. Kinda funny.....I gave the same money for a 2000 sq.ft. house, acre of land and 30x40 shop. ;D

Amazing machine....Would love to own it.
