My soon to be wife picked up this 94 yj about 2 months ago and asked me to start building it so we could go wheeling this coming year. She named it Rockhopper. I had a 95 YJ I built last year but go mad and sold it...its the red caged one pictured. This one sat way to high on coil springs front and rear and both 4 links were thrown together. I cut the backhalf of the jeep off and tubed it out and build a cage. I just finished redoing the rear 4 link with 16" dual rate coilovers and used 2" .250 dom tubing for lower links and 1.5" .250 upper links. both use 7/8" heims. I am getting ready to tear the front 4 link apart and redo it and add 14" dual rate coilovers. Also adding hydo steering and building some beadlocks for the 42's

changed the rear coilover mounts a little and got a nice low stance now. started tearing the front apart to redo 4 link set up and swap from coil to coilovers. Also got all the TBI nightmare worked out. ended up having to swap to shorty headers to clear upper link mounts.

Coilover mounts built and coilovers tacked in place. Wanted a different look so added some upper braces from coilover mounts to radiator mount. Gona trim hood to fit around them

ill get you some pics of the upper mounts tomorrow. my red yj on top of page was a 3 link so I could set it a lot lower than with this 4 link set up. ive run into header clearance issues with upper link frame mounts. had to swap to s10 v8 conversion headers. Next I had a v8 bolt in saddle mount from advance adapters and the upper links contacted it so I had to swap to weld in motor mounts... only other issue I see is I need to swap to a mini starter because the header almost touches the starter and figure it will burn it up pretty quick. as far as the link mount on the passenger side it is about 3/8" from the link mount.... its a tight fit!!!

Re:

I just got started on the rear 4 link on my YJ & hoping to get it a little lower. At ride height its 49" to the top of the tub right behind the doors sitting on 39.5s. I'm shooting for 115" WB
Am I in the right ballpark?

got tires mounted on beadlocks, installed drive flanges, painted front tubing. going to install coilovers tomorrow!! then on to the hydraulic steering. if all goes well ill drive it out of the garage this weekend!! loller.gif
