Something tells me that people forget, this is Dynamite Design's first build.... Seems like they don't nessesarily understand what is being shown vs what is being used.... #potential #afterhours #exhausted #nofunds #machinerywouldbenice #DanDubosesaidtohustle #sameshityougotorless #didntknowsomethingcouldbedonewithajeepthathasntbeendonebefore #mommasgarage #payattention #thismightjustbeepic #dontevenhaveinstagramidkwhathashtagsdo

Brag brag brag brag brag Look at me I can make a circle is all I got ought of that last post??? :dunno:

Keep on keepin on tho.

Its startin to come together. Man that seems like alot of fab work for a jeep though? I agree on the shock angle. You want them as straight up and down as you can get them with the travel direction of the axle perpendicular with lower link.

how do you get more travel? A 4 link gets shorter as it drops down. the rear will move towards the cab(tub). so you would get less travel out of the shock

This is done to allow more travel out of the shocks while not cutting the tub, keeping the ride height low. VERTICAL POSITION.

If that's all you got out of the post, then it wasn't directed towards you. The words where not meant for bragging. Only good context, regarding what is being accomplished under terrible circumstances. I have no doubt, there is an army of people waiting to see if I crack under this extreme pressure.... I see it as a pretty deep post, and the people that are looking into this with interest, should also.

Please re-read the 2nd sentence of the post, above the elementary school circle. Thanks

Extreme pressure? Your building a cage and a dash for a Jeep. Quit churchin the **** up and finish it, then post the pics. It looks sweet, just quit with the tool bag attitude. These guys are in your head man. Do ya thing and enjoy what you do.

Ugghhh.... ??? The pressure doesn't have anything to do with the Jeep itself. Your right though.... But this is a lot more to me than just a Jeep build. There are reasons this thread exists.

Ha, exactly what I was thinking.

DUDE, you're building a toy Jeep!

Pretty sure if you'd have just finished it and posted some cool **** with a thread like "Dynamite Design - Jeep custom cage and interior" with an address and contact number, and presented yourself as a PROFESSIONAL fabricator, then you'd be getting some calls and have quite a bit of business lined up already.

All the whining and woe-is-me attitude is a little much.

I've got business ready to roll in, but Yeah, that would of been simpler. Not sure it would of been as effective though. My plan wasn't designed to worry about what happens within a few months.

Your presentation on NC4x4 is much better IMO,

Hate to see someone's talent go to waste or career choice get sidelined by some stupid **** posted on the internet.

Ya know how fast stuff spreads around these days.

Now on to more fabbin'

Hey, lay off man. It's only been 2 months and he hasn't gotten the cage with no bends done yet.

I couldn't narrow down which chapter of the suspension novel to explain, so I will just say PJ built it just about at good as it could be built under a jeep tub. The force of the compression is traveling straight into the cage. If it was mounted straight up the jeep would either sit higher or have less up travel. I tuned the shocks for the mounted position, so that is the performance advantage, along with the chassis reliability that PJ formed.

As far as I am concerned with the travel, it looks to me like the shock is mounted perpendicular with the angle of the lower link. Therefore giving you basically 1 to 1 motion ratio and total control.

Thanks David. I know you understand suspensions. I think the owner will vouch for the performance of the suspension. We had a choice to make and i decided to make it tie in to the cage, and not go through the body considering it was still going to be street driven often. It still sits pretty low for a full body tj and it drives great on the street and the trails. I have used the reverse mounting of shocks in the past with good results. Sometimes to make room for wide rear bench seats, its the only option.
