thinking about getting another harley

Harley makes some cool bikes, can't argue that. My problem with them is the fact that anything with an HD logo is marked up 5-10 times what it should actually cost, andit seems that 80% of the people riding them are douche bag hypocrites. They talk about how bikers are family and help one another, but I've seen 100 people in Harley clothes stand around and watch an old man try to pick up his bike after he dropped it avoiding a car. By the time I got there two "kids" on crotch rockets had him up and going. I know everyone on a Harley isn't a douche but its hard to find them in a sea of black and orange.

There are douches everywhere. In my area it's more the crotch rocket crowd that's the douchy ones. I also don't wear harley clothes or vests. **** clubs!

Old jap bikes are ok. I'd rather have my harley personally. It looks good sounds amazing and will blow the ****ing tire off with me and the misses on it. It'll eat pretty much any jap bike that's not a crotch rocket. Love them too. I pretty much love all bikes. Just wish I had more time to ride.

Out of curiosity, what's the specs on your Harley?

I'm with you on this. Some of the jap builds are super cool but I like all my bikes.
Got a Fatboy that will spin the tire in 3rd gear and my ultra just dynoed at 102.4 torque at the rear tire

Fatboy is a 2002 with 95 pistons with cams and head work
Bagger is 2011 with 103 pistons and cams, head work, and some small tweaking to little things.

What cc's does that equal out to? That Yamaha Warrior 1700cc I had is supposed to be among the fastest, sportiest cruisers out there, on par with Harley V-Rod, but it wouldn't do no 3rd gear tire burning. Of course, it had sportbike tires on it, which tend to be much softer than traditional cruiser tires, gripping the road better.

Mine is a wide glide with an evo that was originally a run of the mill 80" motor. I tore it down and replaced the jugs with revtec 88" jugs. Ran flat top wiseco forged pistons, topped it with screaming eagle heads with screaming eagle roller rockers. I put in a .590 lift bob woods camshaft (ws6-h) and Andrews chromoly pushrods. Jetted it up with the largest jets u can buy for the cv carb. I bored my own cases myself and built the motor myself. It's more of a beast than I expected with great rideability. Lots if research went into the 4k worth of parts that went into it. Sorry for the delay in response I'm
On vacation in Daytona.

95 = 1550 cc

103 = 1690

I just got the ultra done and only have about 200 miles on it
The Fatboy has been done several years with prob 20,000 on it since build. Never raced a sport bike which would win. Last bike I raced on it was a Victory 100 and spanked that ass. It's just a play bike and don't go out looking to race but sometimes there is that one guy on a poker run that thinks his **** his bad ass and nothing made can outrun it.

Only pics I got of my Fatboy and ultra. Both look factory and Fatboy has apes now

Re:

If you want a Harley with insane power out of the box then a vrod is the only way to to. I know the engine was not designed by harley, but it's still a quick ride

BUT....I'd rather get equal power and better suspension/brakes for half the price with a Yamaha Warrior. lol. I'll never pay money for a Harley. Everybody has their own preference, there's just nothing about a Harley that appeals to me over Jap bikes. But as long as you're riding, that's all that matters :dblthumb:

Re: Re: thinking about getting another harley

I posted these in random pic thread a while back. When I buy another Warrior, I'm gonna customize it similar to this overall theme. This is the baddest ass Warrior I've ever seen. For sale (if it hasn't already sold) for $9,500. Still cheaper than a V-rod and has a shitload of custom mods.

This is the Warrior I had, basically stock with only a Cobra exhaust, power commander III tuner, and bunch of gay chrome someone else put on there. Gave $4100 for it, sold it for $4300 about 7 months later to fund building my little shop. Damn I want another one bad!

I like all bikes. I have two jap bikes as well as my harley. I have a 1977 cb750 fourK, a 2002 honda shadow 750 ACE, and my 99 wide glide. To me NOTHING beats the sound of a Harley. My last sport bike was a CBR955RR with lots of work. It was a beast but I lost my fear of it so I figured it was better for my longevity to get rid of it while I was still vertical. I live about 40 miles from the dragon. If you know anything about the dragon I'm sure you can understand my thought process.

I'm sure it's a typo, but it was a 954RR unless you had a super secret special edition lol.....first year of the fuel injection for the Hondas after switching from the carburated 929 and only made 2 years from 02-03. Always had a hard on for those bikes before I bought my ZX10R. Been to the Dragon multiple times, it was fun the first few times, but got burnt out on it quickly. Too many sharp turns to really do what a literbike is capable of doing. I always had more fun on the Cherohala Skyway. Longer, sweeping switchback turns. They resemble an actual road course track far more than Deal's Gap. I think to date the fastest time through Deal's Gap is still a super motard bike. They are so light and easier to throw around than full size sportbikes. Sportbikes are still fun there though, more specifically the lower power range of 600's or the v-twin sportbikes like the SV650's. The v-twin bikes have the low end torque, perfect for out of sharp twisties like that in low rpms. I always wanted to ride a motard through it though!

BUT, all this talk about throwing around a bigger bike in Deal's Gap doesn't hold a candle to that guy that will follow and film you through the Gap on a fawking Goldwing! He says if you can outrun him, he'll give you the video free! And he means it! I've seen him ride up there before and it's ridiculous. He even went to one of the Sportbike Tracktime track days that I used to do, track prepped his bike, and they actually let him on the track! Dude dragging hard bags and footboards all the way around those turns....guy has some huge balls!

deals gap on a goldwing/gl1800 by yellow wolf dragons tail

One of his more recent track day vids. FAWK I miss track days.....nothing in offroading holds a candle to that adrenaline rush!

I'm tellin ya, I LOOOVE some '70s and '80s jap bikes, but I
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE
a freakin Goldwing. Nobody but other faggy Goldwing riders like your queer LED wheel lights, and if you gotta be so comfy and carry that much **** to justify the bags, cupholders, radio, cb, heaters, GPS, microwave/toaster combo, foot massager, and 4-12v outlets, buy a damn RV. And get your 65 doin' ass the fawk out from in front of me when I come up behind you doing 80 on 75N!
