Hello all;
I built a new fuel cell out of 1/8" aluminum and now I'm wondering how I could mount it to the chassis. I noticed a lot of the bouncers have drilled and tapped round aluminum stock on the side of their fuel cells. I'm worried that with the flexing of the aluminum they will eventually crack, am I missing anything or just overthinking it? I'm actually thinking of building a steel cradle, but I would rather not do that. I've got welded aluminum supports inside the cell tying the sides to the bottom. I was wondering if I could get some opinions if four 2" OD round pieces welded on two opposing sides are strong enough. The cell must come out of the bottom of the chassis.
Thanks.
