Which sells better? 2 seater or 4 seater rigs?

In yalls opinions, which one sells better? I have a jeep I picked up to put some time, effort and money into to sell. I am on the fence about back halving it and making it a two seater or working around a back seat and making a family wheeler. Opinions please. It will be a trailer baby either way. four link front and rear, propane, air shocks in rear, low gears, lockers, hydro steer etc.

If it can be a SMALL 4 seater and not be a rock limo I say that's the way to go.

It depends on how wild. On mild builds a 4 seater is better. If you go extreme then 2 seater.

My main motive is marketability. I lean more toward the 4 seater too just for that.

Wish I had a back seat somtimes. And I'm sure I'll be cuttin my cage off somtime in the next couple years for my lil turd to ride around with me. She's constantly says " jeep, jeep,jeep". I say fit Atleast a single seat in the back. a matching set of seats with rear bench would be badass. Then build around that. Wish u was my neighbor , be fun to help build Ya on somthing besides mine for a change. I say Atleast a 3 seater. Back halfin was a must for me, struts would hit frame when suspension dropped.

When I went to sell my jeep, EVERYONE thought it was a 2 seater. :****: Everybody asked if it had a back seat like the backseat was a deal breaker. When I would say it had the back seat they would almost **** themselves. End results are the new owner made it a 2 seater.

I have purchased my last two rigs BECAUSE they were 4 seaters. I have a 9 yo and 7 yo and if they don't have a way to wheel with me at least some of the time I wheel...then I don't get to have crawling as a hobby.
That said - I have a YJ on tons and a TBI 350 with a 113" wheelbase- not a bouncer by any means, but enough for the family to have fun with on mild days and more than enough for me to get into trouble with when they aren't with me. :woot:

IMO go 4 and next owner can always mod it to 2 if they want...much harder to take a 2 seater and add a back seat...

Not a CJ, but same concept. A four seater Jim's Garage built several years ago.

If you built it with having a rear seat in mind that would force you to mount the fuel tanks in, under the rear. If you could make that happen that would leave the option of a rear seat. Build the cage to allow head room in the rear. Then if you have a buyer on the fence at least installing a rear seat could be done. If you find a rear seat in the build process pick it up and build around it.

I built mine knowing my boys would be riding along. Rear seat will fit someone up to 5'10" comfortable. More leg room would be great.

I just happen to have a Corbeau rear suspension seat with headrests and a frame out of my old TJ if you need a rear bench

3 or 4 seaters can be done with some thought put into them and not look or be a rock limo. In my opinion. If they are done right it would be a heck of a selling feature and apply to a bigger group of customers.
