Ok , Im joking 99% of the time.. This is the 1% I'm NOT. Fellas this is fawkin depressing.. Here's whAt I have , motor, atlas, and atlas support at ALL mounted on same material.. Not sure if this has anything to do with driveshaft coming out on me or not, but it aint been this way long. Here's a couple of things that keep going through my mind as to possible cause.
1. Motor mount bushings have pulled bolt through the bottom a couple times while riding, causing the motor to shift over. ( finally got huge washer to prevent this from happening again.) when this happened I was wondering how the rest of the drivetrain held up to the motor moving over!??
2. Rear Driveshaft coming loose from axle and beating the hell outta everything.
3. Not having a mount under the transmission where the 2 bolts are right above the Atlas crossmember bolts. (Not sure if needed)

Ok. Anyone that knows me knows how much my rig means to me. This is totally ****ed up. I try to make sure my **** is mechanically sound and in top notch shape. Not only that, this is all foriegn to me. Never touched a transmission before. I'm distraught to say the least. I need to know wtf to do!?? I take it this trans is fuked? Sick to my stomach. Any advice as always is greatly appreciated. I gotta get going fixing this thing. Like NOW.
I will post pics in one second. FML.

Here's the bolt holes on bottom of trans I was talking bout

Where did it break? Tail shaft or bell housing? I know the engine is rubber mounted, are both the transmission and transfer case also rubber mounted? Where you be stays?

That's a very common crack on those transmissions. They are fussy about the ways they are mounted. I'll wait for some other questions to be answered before I say much else. But a good trick to keep the motor mounts in tact is to weld a chain on both side to the fame that gets tight before the mounts can separate. Its a Toyota trick that the guys with 2000:1 crawl ratios do to deal with all that torque movement.

The trans case is ****ed, but the internals can likely be re-used if they're high-performance stuff.

Yeah, it can probably be weldered / tigged if you want to go that route. I think most would rather just get a new case though.

I have broke three that exact way on the tail shaft. That was when the motor was hard mounted and the trans was rubber mounted. Transfer case had no mount. Changed the transmission to a hard mount and put a Roark brace (hard mount) on the Atlas. I have not had an issue since. I am a huge fan of hard mounting everything. You can also soft (rubber) mount everything. But half and half will break the transmission. Housing is junk. Swap all internals to new housing if insides are anything special. If all stock, just get a new trans. Sorry.

That the tail shaft? Right where it mounts to atlas. Oh god this is bad. Just can't win somtimes. I have no clue what I'm gonna do. I can tell Ya I won't stop till its fixed. Don't know about anyone else but this **** really gets to me. I realize it's a toy , but it's the only thing i have. Guess I wouldn't be wigging out if I had messed with a transmission before. just shoot me! And yes sir everything is rubber mounted..

Got one of those on it. Thanks Thanks guys. And I have no clue about the internals. Probably nothing special. Fawk Sure this is an open ended question considering quality of parts involved, what is the average price of a good used TH350. ?

mine broke once because the rear driveshaft had twisted splines, which would not let in slip, caused the transmission case to crack..didn't realize it until AFTER I was putting everything back together.

I'm thinking it has to be either when the motor mounts came loose and the motor slid over, or yesterday when the drive shaft cAme out and all hell broke loose! Is no way it could been like this for long or I would have noticed. I'm all over this thing everyday. Leanin more towards yesterday.

x2

This was basically going to be my advice, although I don't think the trans mount is necessary if you have a good t-case mount. The motor end just can't flex drastically differently than the t-case end. Solid on one end with rubber or poly on the other is a big no-no. Even poly mixed with rubber can be iffy.

Is this material the same **** at knuckles, and chunks? Cast? In other words, HUGE pain in the ass to weld correctly?

It's cast aluminum. Very easy to TIG but not in the rig most likely.
