New build that I've been collecting parts for awhile, getting to the point of being ready to start on the cage design and cutting tube.

Parts specs are as follows:
-Blown Cadillac 500 (expecting roughly 1k hp)
--8-71 Roots Blower with bugcatcher
--Port & Polished Heads
--Blower Cam
--Roller Rockers
--Forged Pistons
--Forged Rods
--Dry Sumped
--F.A.S.T. Fuel Injection

-TCI Powerglide
--Reid case
--Fully built for roughly 1,500hp
--1.98 billet gears
--32 spline shorty output
--Billet converter

-Custom Transfer Case
--SCS gears and shafts
--Centered output opposite input
--Front disconnect
--Roughly 1.6 or 1.8:1 ratio

-Suspension
--Double triangulated 4 link front and rear
--Alum links (2.5" lowers, 2" uppers)
--1.25" QA1 rod ends
--Fox 2.0 coilovers
--Fox 2.5 triple bypasses
--Fox 2.0 4" travel bump stops

-Axles
--20-145 Differential
--4.56 ratio
--Custom sheetmetal housings with 4"dia 1/2" wall tube
--Locker in front, spool in rear
--ouverson knuckles, c's, spindles, high steer arms, and hubs in front (8 on 6.5 on all 4 corners)
--RCV 2 1/16" 300m axles in front
--custom hubs and spindles in rear
--custom 2.5" 300m axles in rear
--4 wheel disc brakes
--Centered chunk in front, offset chunk in rear
--Double ended ram, behind the axle. Front steer only.
--1550 yokes everywhere

-Misc
--49" iroks
--17"MRW beadlocks
--Mastercraft 3G seats
--vanco hydrobooster
--PSC steering components
--1/2" alum skidplate

So far I've gotten most of the drivetrain parts, save for axle shafts and housings and the transfer case housing itself, working out a few issues with their design then will get them underway.

Shooting for sub 5k weight (probably a dream but oh well), 24" ground clearance, under 70" roofline, roughly 122" wheelbase, 69" WMS for total edge of tire width of 96".

Planning on using 1.75" x .120 wall on the entire chassis. Rear engine, front mounted radiator.

Still laying out components but here's how it looks so far. Alot of suspension calcs to go. Seats look like crap, but they match the 3g's dimensionally so don't really care at the moment.

The entire 3rd member weighs 265lbs, apparently a spool saves something like 30lbs and an aluminum carrier saves another 20-30lbs. Going to try them as is for now, got them CHEAP so can't go wrong for the moment. Picture comparison is between the 20-145 and a dana 80. Makes the 80 look like a toy.

From your parts list your tires and wheels will be the weak link ( they will actually be very disappointing) after that what kinda rig do you have now?

Thats what I was thinking. A little bummed when I got to "49" iroks".

The wheels and tires certainly wouldn't be my choice if I was buying new, but they're left over from my old rig so they're at least going to get a few trial runs. Otherwise I'll always wonder how they'd do.... If they don't work then I'll go to 43 TSL SX stickies on racelines....

I started out buying a jeep off a guy, had the 49's on 1 tons. Built it up to the picture of it in the river then tore it apart to build up a complete tube frame. The tube frame version of it lasted all of 3 rides then cut it apart and now that "cab" is being used on my buddy's GT 2.0 build.

Just in last night, fully built big block caddy. Working on getting all the accessories mounted over the next few days, super excited! Now just have to start drawing up the chassis...

Since you are going all out, you should contact Interco & see if they will make you about ten 49" Irok Stickies, 47 LTB stickies, or 44 Bogger stickies :****:

JDodd, I was planning to build the axle housings myself. I approached Ouverson about them but just not enough demand for them to tool up for essentially a one-off... Some of the pulling guys have fabricated sheet metal housings available but they're not ground clearance friendly and not stout enough for bashing off rocks... I can get one of my vendors from work to laser out the pieces and form them up then I'll tig them together, probably all mild steel and a mixture of 1/4" and 3/8" thick plate and 4"x 1/2" dom tube.
 
That pinion is huge....however,I just noticed the ears ripped off the yoke on the pinion yoke...please explain :gtfo:

The pinion yoke ear was broken when i acquired the diff, probably dropped or something. I'm going with a smaller yoke than the one shown, I think it is a 16xx or 17xx series - WAY huge, but that's what they use on semi's.

Tcase might change a bit, trying to decide if I want to just use the off the shelf SCS case and run both diffs offset or build a custom case and center up the front diff (because mid engine). Of course an off the shelf case is mucho chaper than building a custom case so that makes it very attractive. The internals are what's in a standard scs case.

I've built a number of turbo vehicles and that is starting to become somewhat popular with the buggies, for this build I decided that since I've never built a blower motor that it was time... Can't wait to hear the blower whine :)
