in tha garage blowing smoke...
Ok. So many of ya know, I own a small, tiny, profit less lawn care buisness. Here's what happened. I agree to a board member in the neighborhood to cut her yard until it sells... Keep in mind she has helped out a lot , and been on my side every time the budget was discussed ... But now she's moving back to Canada .. We maintained her place for two months .. She has a light post in the front yard .. its made from some kind of potted aluminum , hell I don't know what it is. All I knows it's Thin and fragile .. And Apparently rots overtime..
So I get a call over the weekend about the light being broke at the base and laying over in the yard, all of the glass busted.. Long story short , my helper said when he was there that it fell over as he went around it with the mower . The thing was rotten and old so I do believe him.. Plus he will tell me when he ****s up, which is often. But that's why he's been with me for 5 years. He's honest and loyal.
So after talking to her, her and her husband want me to replace it .. With a 150$ solar one from Home Depot! Motherfukin kiddin me!!??? Some horse ****! Man that bitch wAs **** to begin with... Cheap ass metal looked liked it had rotted :dunno:
So I was wondering what would you fellas do? Tell her to "eat a booger ay" ( in a Canadian accent ), or replace it? Which my dum ass is doing??
Pics of the breakage coming :smoke:

If its only a 150 bucks to make them happy, do it, if you raise hell about it, I'm sure it would cost you a lot more in the future.

Kind of sucks but if it fell while your guy was cutting it I would say that you should replace it with something equivalent. If an equivalent lamp is $50 then that is what you should pay. If she wants some $150 solar hi-fi BS just tell her you'll apply your $50 to that for her. I imagine that you would replace something else in someone else's yard if your guy damaged it, right?

Send her the bill for mowing the yard for 2 months and tell her when she pays that you will replace the light.

Think about this.. She is a board member or the HOA or whatever.
You tick her off, she runs and tells everyone in the neighborhood , you potentially lose some yards, how much is that gonna cost you vs the $150?

It's unfortunate, and it happens to us all the time. Pay it, move on, tell your dude to be careful thumb.gif

I'd just dig the hole out and put the old **** back up. It'll just be a foot shorter
Haha man I told her I could fix it. Her husband laughed. Now I know why.. Someone was nice enough to pour a concrete footing with 3 bolts that it mounts on. So the base needs to match it up. I wanna order one off eBay but that bottom part has to be 3 bolts 8" apart in a triangle.
Now that I think about it this is gonna be a nightmare. Fawk.

Can always just cut off the bolts and drill in new anchors.

I don't even want to go to the store to buy it Ant, damn sure don't want to have to do all that .. No way Jose.

Fix it and act like a grown up and move on. Then use her phone number every time you sign up for anything. Inquire about attending a Jehovas Whitnes church or a Morman temple and leave her number for the contact number, the suicide hotline, run a Craigslist ad for random things and leave her number, etc.

Tell your employee to pay for it since it fell over as he went around it and he will quit screwing up as much. Naw just messin with ha. Spend the money n fix it and keep her on your side. Hehe

i Guess the weather finally killed it. The entire thing that I'm holding weighs maybe 10 lbs. I don't know wat the metal is but dam it's cheap.. The look on my face pretty much describes how I feel bout the situation and the 845 degree heat. Fawk. Still say horse ****! :woot:

Now to the 150 dollar horse **** light. Made of potato chips. Ha, weld it.. Be like welding a rolling paper. Ha!
Start the bidding at 150 ...
