Rockwells make your sac swell!

No, mine stay tight. I don't use lock washers or any washers for that matter. I use red loctite and that's it. Draggbody once told me his theory as to why lock washer don't help and only hurt. I've since started agreeing with him. I don't use them on anything any more.
Would you mind sharing this info?

Re:

I don't recall all the specifics. He had done a ton of research on it. They eventually lose their spring and then the bolt loosens without you knowing was one of the reasons. There was a big thread on pirate about it too. The deformation of the threads under proper torque was what should hold the bolt tight. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Sorry these took me so long. This is my favorite one so far because it is small and stout, has a built-in ramp on the bottom, and has a replaceable front plate. I would have made the front plate thicker but I was out of small scraps of 3/8 and I didn't feel like digging an entire sheet out of the stack just for that.

Bringing this back up I am new to rockwells and looking for some info on mounting double ended rams want to put both of them the correct way and really just don't know where to start I don't have the buggy built yet but wondering if it would be ok to build the steering before the buggy is built I have a good idea of how the links will be and just need some ideas of clearance issues I need to watch out for any pics would help

Steering on the rear of the front axle, and don't get the 3" rams get 2" or possibly 2-1/4" 9" stroke

I was wanting to do steering behind front axle and then on the rear axle put it in front of axle surplus center 2x10 DE rams just trying to see how people are fitting between the links

You can put that size ram in between the links pretty easy. If you put the rear axle with the steering behind you it will turn sharper but it's always in harms way, but I ran mine that way for 2 years with the only problem being that I would dent up the bars that held it on

Also looking for a little clarification on the rear axle if the steering is in front of the axle that would be correct Ackerman right? Which would mean it would turn better?

Steering would be on the rear just like the front, think about it like this. They are both pulling and turning the same direction. Steering behind the axle is how they come from the factory

looks like ill be reading this thread a few times here soon. picking up a new chassis this weekend that's set up for rocks so bout to have some sac swell
