The vintage is the largest event now. Very cool.
I take my concessions in for vintage and Indy car.

I'm amazed how many people in bham don't know or go to these races. I tell everyone that is traveling through bham to stop at the museum. Even if your not into bikes it's still a really enjoyable way to kill a day.

I love everything about that place! 55 million dollar facility! Always wanted to go down for a superbike race, but I think I'd get bored of sitting there in the same place watching. I'm not much of a spectator. I miss like hell all the times before my big wreck of doing trackdays, Barber was my favorite track! I drug my ass across the 45 foot wide tarmac on it running about 80mph my first day riding it :****: molaugh There's 80' of elevation change on that track, whoooole lot of blind corners over hills, but damn it's adrenaline rushing!

oing to that museum for the first time was the very day I decided to get into trackdays. I went there with several friends and Team Honda was there testing out the new CBR1000's to be released the following year, so we got to watch them on the track from the museum. That was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, I said I will fawking do that soon. Saved my pennies up and bought leathers, boots, a track bike that I didn't care to trash (because I thought mine was too nice for the risk) and went and did it big! **** was sooooo fun! Expensive as hell too! One day of riding was $205 at Barber and that was over 6 years ago. It was the highest dollar track to ride around here, Road Atlanta was 2nd highest. Ok enough reminiscing, carry on...... molaugh

They upgrade every year. This spring they added a bridge that comes out of the back of the 3rd story at the museum over to the infield. Best view ever is on the bridge. ( except at Indy I take a Ferris wheel and set it about 50 feet from the track. )

Swap meet and motorcycle racing this weekend. If anyone is coming out to barbers give me a shout I'll be working all weekend. I'm going to have a couple of concession stands and a Ferris wheel at the track.

That's awesome! Mr. Barber must be one cool cat! booyang

The guy is worth like $50 billion dollars and drives a Honda mini van EVERYWHERE. :****: We do lots of clearing work for the facility and he will just drive up and talk to you like you're his son. GREAT GUY. That new waterfall area was just completed and built from scratch by Tony Cousins(Greyrock owner) Beautiful job
