Fire Safety NO EXCUSES (A fire ext quick disconnet Build Thread)

I put one on either side just in case, while trying to keep them protected if I get into and trees or rocks

And moved the little fella I had on the cage to the trans tunnel ( I can reach it while fully strapped in)

I also have two of these and have really thought about placement on my buggy. I see yours are right next to your fuel cells. Most likely in the case of a rollover and one gets punctured or supply line gets ripped open and catches fire, you won't be able to get close enough to grab a fire extinguisher because of flames. IMO, I'd move it to a little more accessible area to get to it maybe closer to the cab on the same bar or on the outer vertical bar? I have been involved with a number of equipment fires here at work and that was one of my issues where we mounted them. :dunno:

If he ruptures one of those propane tanks, the extinguisher isn't going to help anyway. Just run.

that right, wont make a difference at that point

I have got plenty of options for places to put them, I'm sure i'll be fine

I do appreciate the input though

Bumping this thread back up. Got 1 of my 2 mounted. I'll mount the other when I buy another extinguisher. Thanks JDuck! :dblthumb:

PM Jduck on here, not sure if he has any cut out right now, but he usually will make a run when he gets a few folks interested!

Any updates?

Any chance you would offer a slightly longer bottom piece to allow room for a hole top and bottom for flat surface mounting were tubing and clamps are not an option?

I'm sure I could do something like that. Shoot me a pm and we'll work out the details.

Where did you get them pull out pins? I need another one. I tried to force it through the hole. Not good idea.

Fastenal usually but most places like them will have them.

Exactly which hole were you forcing it in?

One of the holes in the mounts. Where the torch started cutting it had a starting point that protruded into the hole making it to small for the pin to go in. Ended up drilling out the holes and truing up the inside diameter. It did that where I would not ruin the other pin. Thankfully I ordered two mounts and only had one fire extinguisher.

Pm me your address and I'll mail ya a replacement pin. That's odd that it did that, I chase all the holes with a 3/8 drill bit and ship them pinned and bolted together to make sure they all line up.
