Rectanglar guages

Kind of a stupid question but I've been searching google for a while now and can't find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of a digital rectangular tachometer. I'm building a dash in a yj and dont have room for a huge circle guage to go over the steering column where I want it( I like symmetry). Basically I want just the readout like a digital clock i guess but with my rpms....Anyone got any ideas?
 
I would like to find a rectangular bar tachometer about 1" tall and 5" long that is just a red digital bar that goes up and down with the RPM's. Simple, but visual ?????? anybody know of one like this? :dunno:

Something like this, but 1" x 5" rectangular and just the hash marks, no numbers. SIMPLE, yet effective. I wonder if someone could even make one? :dunno:

You can't really buy them separate as they are part of the factory cluster... The leds light up yellow as rpms rise & turn red at the redline... best tach ever, just very small

That's real close to what I am looking for, simple design, nothing fancy. Just a plain and simple.
 
Think about it, all of us gear heads think we need a tach, but really its useless in todays world for the most part, the last race car a I built is when it hit me, MSD box controls everything, the rpm you leave, it shifts itself at a preset rpm, then has a rev limiter! so really no use for the gauge other than look cool.

Sir, you are correct, but I would like to SEE my shift points rather than know what the actual numbers are. My MSD is set at 7800 rpm's right now and let's me know when I get there, I would use it kind of like a shift light indicator. Maybe senseless to some, but something I have been thinking about.

Hah, that's when you hit reverse and hope there's not a flock of Nuns watching behind you. :eek:

I got verbally reprimanded last year for a rock being thrown off my tire last year on V-Notch. HAHAHA Maybe they will stay back farther and be smarter when someone is hitting a ledge this year. :flipoff1:
 
Dakota Digital should be able to build what you're looking for. I have them build lots of customs setups for me for all kinds of crazy ideas.

I haven't had a tach in my past 2 rigs and don't plan to have one in the next.
