I had a rough day today. I own a liquor store for those that do not know. I pick up the liquor from a wholesale ABC store and deliver it to my business. There is construction going on in the building next door and a truck pulled in to unload equipment as I was pulling in. I caught up with one of the guys and politely asked him if he could slide it over just enough to get the van in to load out. Guy told me to **** off his boss was going to the shitter. Seeing the guy still walking, started there and told the guy i wasn't waiting an hour for them to sit on their ass in the back of the truck. He and another construction worker told me to **** off and suck their dicks.....all with my family within earshot in the van. I told them to watch their mouths and the younger guy told me that GA boys do it different and he had a little something for me in the truck. He opened the door, reached inside the storage area in the door and if he would have turned around or even popped up, I was gonna kill him on the spot.
He calmed down a little, the construction worker pulled out the keys and walked over still cussing and moved the truck. I never pulled my pistol, but was in the stages of pulling up my shirt to draw. As they moved around, the ABC manager and property manager had a run in with the foul mouthed youth (20) and the other worker (30). I got my daughter inside the store and the ABC manager told the guy to watch his mouth in front of my daughter. The guy kept calling me a GD motherfucker and to suck his ****ing ****, so I asked him one last time to watch his mouth. He spouted off again and I finally got the sense to call the cops. My wife was still in the van with a pistol in the door and my boy was in their too. I kept watch until the cops showed up.
Second piece of my puzzle. I live in Cullman, AL. It is as racist a town as you will ever find. It is coming around, but not too quickly. The only witness to this incident is a construction worker that is black as night. He got to the police officer first and was saying how calm the guy was and polite and I jumped his case and said it was bullshit. The young black guy turned around calmly and said, yeah, this guy. He was polite and nice and the other guy started cussing him and threatened him and went to his truck to get something out of the door.
As the officers gathered information, they found a registered pistol in that door. I gave my information to the officers and left the scene.
This all being said. Please put away all the bullshit at Christmas/New Years/Holiday time. Today was a day that could have been in my kids mind forever when either daddy got shot and killed or that I shot and killed someone. It has ****ed me up pretty good and I haven't been this keyed up in a long time. Smartest thing I have done is avoid the alcohol. I played basketball and tried to get my mind to stop but it is in overdrive. I know that life is precious, it is also fragile and no matter what, it can catch you off guard.
On a side note, I had a previous employee (53) tell me a few hours ago that his heart condition is taking a turn for the worse. He is setting up for a replacement at his new job and knows his time is getting short. Just kiss the little ones if you have them or the wife. JRICH, tip the strippers well
and pay close attention to your surroundings at all times.
