Ha!....yup u right

Thats nothing a little Dynamite Design couldn't spend a few hours weldering back up. Hell, if his sac isn't swollen enough to rock pretty welds on the axle tube, he doesn't need Rockwells :stir:

I guarantee it would end a discussion of DD with a valid answer for why all those weaved welds were there :stir: :stir:

I guess they at being used for different uses but in the how to make a rock'l light thread someone mentioned retubing with thinner wall tubing!???!
Nothing less than a Rockwell will take the abuse they will take with the exception of the shafts! :****:

Think about what it takes to break 4 inch .500 wall tubing... sure it may be 50 years old, but damn

Some 60s even had something like 3.125 .250 wall or some **** ...

Rocks are where it's at. That thing has probably been cracked since Vietnam :****:

Like I said my story would be the truck I got it from had ran over a land mine!

Isn't it havoc?
those who say it's been or could have been cracked for years, where is the rust on the old cracks? I would think there would be some if so,but maybe not?

Edit: I quoted you because I thought it would contain the close up picture

Honestly, you would think so. Based on the pics you normally see of broke housings. I had a trailer axle housing snap off at work before, sure enough there was about an inch and half long rust crack that showed itself when the rest of it broke off.

Pic just might not show it. I have to do failure analysis all the time at work and that's very common in fatigue failures along with beach marks. Almost looks like a casting flaw but hard to tell by the pics on my phone. I'm going rocks with my new one so f it

Contact Jim Gerst for axle seals, stock ones are so hit or miss and frustrating they leak and make a mess, Jim makes and awesome seal and retainer support for the price of stock stuff that doesn't leak !
How do you contact Jim? Company name?

Talked to him today. Thanks
They look nice. Not sure why he don't try to sell them on here. He will get my business when I get home.

He didn't mention anything about pinion seals. Anyone find one that works better than another?

I've been following him on pirate. If he sells that thing as a kit you weld for a decent price, itll be badass

I had thought about a weld together, but I'm dealing with a massive welding fixture right now to get them bang on every time.
Would be far too easy to mess something up without it.

But the price should be good enough that it doesnt matter. Besides......Canadian dollar is **** right now so you guys get an even better deal :rolf:
