So I'm trying to wrap my head around this set up. The 7075, is the material that has a memory to it, correct?
Did you weld your bung into the Dom?
It's an interesting ideal for sure.
Bung welded to the dom. Weight & strength was the main reasons. 2.5x0.375 was 8.5lb/ft, 2.75x0.500 was 12 lb/ft, 2.25x0.25 plugged is 8.2lb/ft.

The way I understand it, 7075 has very little memory. It can take numerous deflections and return to it's original straight state. I have 2.5" 7075 lowers.. I actually ordered 2.25" lowers but WOD made mine out of 2.5" by mistake so they let me have them at the lesser cost. They are total beef.

I think you've got it backwards but the concept is right. 7075 is a good memory material, as in it can flex and return to it's original geometry. It "remembers" what it was, not what you did to it when coming down on a rock.
