My friends and I swapped one into a 72 K20 GMC with a 4l80 behind it and it's a monster in that lighter truck. Gets the same MPG's that it would in any other truck. This one has a black bear tune with the torque management crap gone, its really fun to drive.

Thinking about a 12valve swap. What is a good 8.1 worth and is the Allison in a gass truck up to a mild cummins ? Any thoughts?

Have you pulled anything with it yet? If you haven't I think you'll be surprised. I'd rather watch my gas gauge go down then watch a Pyrometer go up which seems to be something my friends with 12vs have to do.
