Well after a lot of back and fourth I decided to do a new build. As my boys are getting a little older I want to be able to take them with me. This is my second build but first full tube chassis build. Looking for a cross between a bouncer and ultra4 build as far as style and look.

I decided to go with a full new build because there was just too much I wanted to change about my current rig, and heres what I've decided to go with.

5.3, TH400, Atlas drive drop 3.0, 14 bolts front and rear so there is no worry about ring and pinions. As of now I plan on reusing a lot of the parts of my sami. I will be using my 42'' tsl's since they are still pretty new, front seats, lights, radiator, ORI struts, and some misc. odds and ends.

so far I picked up a Built 5.3 from a buddy, fresh rebuild that he planned up putting in a streetcar. Don't know every spec but it has cam, springs, pushrods valves all new gaskets arp head studs port polished etc.

I also figured for as cheap as 14bolts go for I would just build another rear so I didn't have to steal anything off the sami yet.

Drew up some motor mounts and burnt them out.

Rear is all cleaned up, got a chassis table made motor tranny and atlas all bolted up. rear seat is order and in I went with another Twisted Stitch to match the fronts I currently have.

I also got my 14 bolt front in and up into a rough location.

Also is a picture of my current rig. What I hope to either sell whole or will eventually be tearing down to rob.

Got the main frame rails bent up doubled and got the shock hoops/rocker bent up.

Unfortunately I had back surgery so now i'm going to be out for the next few weeks and this is going to be killing me.

Umm large marge is the scary ghostly dead fat chick truck driver in pee wee Hermans big adventure . . . . The movie

LAAARGE MAAARGE!!!
pee wee would scream

Lol random

HA thats funny i've actually never saw any of the pee wee movies but if I had to picture a large marge that is pretty much what I was thinking. Sort of, more of a fat stripper chick. Which I also thought about incorporating into the build but figured fat stripper silhouettes aren't exactly family friendly haha

and thanks for the compliments on the sami, i hope this build turns out as good.

Well still on bitch duty for another few weeks until the back is fully recovered but got my friend to help me install the new low profile oil pan from Holly. It looks like i'll be able to run a full flat belly and the power-train super low in the chassis.

got a few more small things done, not the less still progress. Welded up some Vbands on my new headers, welded up some AN fittings on my water pump and installed my TMR shave kit. Preheat took 2 minutes haha.

I actually ended up cutting the entire shave kit back off. This is my second one i've done and this time I wasn't going to shave my ring gear because it didn't really give me that much extra ground clearance, but after I installed the kit fully weld it and everything IMO it looked like ****. I called TMR and they said both non and shave gears are the same plate. So basically the plate over hung the housing and required a lot more weld. Instead of laying nice and flush like the first kit i did. Great product but if your going to use it go machined ring gear.

changed up the lines a little last minute but really liking it so far, will still have to drop the power train a little to make mounting seats a little easier.

Are you going to build a transmission cross member or just use the one under the atlas, reason I'm asking is because I'm building a rig now and it would be a big plus for me to not have a trans cross member for space reasons, just looking for opinions I guess.

Yes I've got the one at the back of the atlas now but plan on making one for the tail of the tranny. I'll have to get creative since I'm using a 2 piece drive shaft but I figure it was necessary for strength but also if I need to service the atlas it's not just hanging on the bell housing. My last rig was like that and I've heard of the cracking bell housings or tail shafts so I was always nervous.
