Re:

It rained at Stony this weekend. All it did was increase the humidity by about 20%. I'll just take a cold front with no rain please.

I'm out. Ex ol' lady, son's football camp and game, screwed it all up for me. I will be in Knoxville Saturday, so I'll try like a mofo to make it for a day of riding at least.

Looks like rain every day for the next few weeks around these parts. Sparta has a good chance for rain for a bit too. How good or bad is this place with Z water on the ground? I don't care, just wanting a reference. I am sure it is more difficult, just wondering if it becomes impossible?

Golden Mtn is the worst place I have been when it's wet I have reds on my truggy and if it's wet I won't be going it's just to slick!

Re:

I'll be there with dig tires on. Guess I will be chancing being stuck or dead. Either way it should make for an interesting ride.
I was hoping for tons of wet traction like we had at Harlan, but figured it would be like most southern parks.

I've lived in East Tennessee most of my life. The worst thing you can do is look at the weather any farther than about 48 hours out. They have no ****ing clue what it's going to do. The plateau, the valley, and the Appalachias make it impossible to predict.

We were at Golden Mountain this weekend and if conditions stay like they are right now it's gonna be an awesome ride. Trails that are a must to hit are as follows, Copperhead, Crackhead, SOB, The moon, Hellevator, The Jungle, Trail 3, Honey Bee, and probably my favorite Stinger. Stinger is a little pig trail to get in but opens up to 3 awesome ledges in a row. We road all day Friday and Most of the day Saturday. Lots of good riding. I think a few of us may try to bring a few Toyota's up there and show out a little.

GMP is worst than AOP . AOP is slickry when wet but nothing like GMP. Everyone should try crack head in the rain at least once . We were on it last year in the pouring rain and was ruff. It killed a couple of very well built rigs. I was lucky with only a bunch of major body damage to my jeep :dblthumb:

Lots of people overlook Stinger. :dblthumb:

As dry and hot as it's been, what little rain we've been getting has been drying out in a few hours.
We've also been getting short lived, really hard rains. Not those good slow soaking in rains that really mess up the riding.

NO ONE can predict the weather in Middle TN two weeks out , it may be awesome !!! With that being said, GMP is the worst ever when its wet :****:

GMP is by far the WORST park I've ever been to when even the discussion of moisture on the ground is discussed.
I've literally driven 5 hours up there on Friday night, tried riding after a regular rain, early Saturday morning, and just packed up at lunch and just gone home. Them trails hurt my damn feelings so bad we went home.
Even the access trail becomes almost so slick that there's no point.
