Anyone have a ford 6.2? The 6.4's scare me a little too much.
I like my 6.4

My brother in law has said he is going to sale his 02 7.3. I know it has a rebuilt trans. 2 tone. Black/tan. Body is excellent condition.

Ive been looking into the gas 2500 trucks. I have zero need for a diesel, had one it was cool but I'm done throwing away money. I like the super duty trucks so ive been browsing the f250's with the 6.2 motor. Ive also searched through the Chevy 2500's with 6.0 motors. How many of ya'll have the F250 with 6.2 gas motor? Like it?

I loved my 06 gmc 2500hd with 6.0 gasser. Had a Diablosport programmer on it and tweaked the shift points and shift pressure and it drove like a new truck. The 4 speeds shift out too early from factory and downshift late, making it feel like a slug, changing all that made a world of difference. If I still had a rig and trailer to pull, I would still have it. Long as you are pulling under 10k lbs, the 6.0 has all the power you need imo. If I ever buy/build another rig, I'll probably go with an 07+ 6.0 2500hd with the 6 speed auto tranny and see how it does.

Anyone with Eco boost diggers?

I have a 2012 Ecoboost. Pulls my truggy great. I have an SCT tuner and it gets right around 20 mpg normal and about 12 pulling the trailer/truggy.

Im not a big Ford guy, but I bought it used Ford Certified which comes with a 100k mile powertrain warranty. Only had 30k miles on it. I have heard a lot of bad about the ecoboost but no complaints here.

love my tundra as well. But i gotta ask. Whats specs on the camper? I want a bed camper and I as well have a crewmax.

Had a 01 f150 4x4 longbed with a 5.4, it was a great truck. Got around 18 to 20 mpg on highway, and 8 to 12 mpg towing depending on how heavy the load was. Now have 06 dodge 2500 5speed 4x4 with 5.7 hemi, gets around 15 to 18 highway and 6 to 10 towing but I've pull a lot of heavy stuff around for the farm (10000 to 15000 lbs loaded on trailer) that's where the 6 mpg comes from. Both where greats trucks and if your wanting a 3/4 ton, the gasers are 10 to 15 thousand cheaper. Plus if you find a manual transmission their even cheaper.

Saw this Super Duty V-10 truck on Craigslist today. Not sure if it has been wrecked in the front or the hood just isn't closed but if it is in decent mechanical shape, the price seems good.

**edit** just saw it needs a transmission

I would rather give 3k for one that needs a transmission than 7k for one that will need a trans soon.

I had the Tundra 5.7 as well, and LOVED that damn truck for the sheer fact that it could tow 10K easily if need-be. I also did not have a brake controller and it never had issues stopping heavy loads. I could drop other half and 3/4-tons towing in convoys too. Sumbitch just had all kinds of ass in that 5.7

I long for the day that I can pick up me a 200-Series Land Cruiser cause it has the 5.7 in it as well...

Sumbish'll tow spaceships!

How did it handle 10k? I am looking at replacing my v10 4.30 excursion with a truck and the tundras have me curious. I tow occasionally, but when I do its close to 10k. 6kTruggy on a deckover. I have no qualms adding bags or timbrens if needed. I know alot of the tundras came with p-rated tires which screams it cant hack it if the factory doesnt even do LT tires.....

I doubt you'd see much mention of them on here, but I picked up a Titan XD gasser last year for work and weekend rig hauling. I didn't test a Tundra so I can't compare to that, but it pulls smoother and stops shorter with my rig than any of my 6.0 GM trucks did (service bed regular cabs 2500Hd, regular cab regular bed 2500Hd, crew cab 1500HD).

Also around town mileage is typical for a 7k lb truck, but going from Murfreesboro to Gatlinburg and back I got 18 there and 19 back. I've got 14k miles on it now and not a lick of trouble.

Another vote for the Tundra 5.7. 380HP and 405TQ, I think that's more than the 6.0 Chevy. Tows my buggy just fine on long 1,000 mile trips. I've done nothing to it except change fluids, tires, and brakes and I have 180K on it now. Only thing with higher numbers is the Ford Ecoboost, but FORD.

Wrong, Ram 1500 with 5.7 HEMI has 395 hp and 410 tq. Ram 2500 has an available 6.4 HEMI with 410 hp and 430 tq.

I tow with a tundra. Tow this box trailer with a 3900 lb buggy with all my stuff in it. I figure I'm around 8500ish fully loaded. Truck handles it fun but really sucks the fuel. About 7mpgish.

I used my old roommates Tundra to haul my junk backin the day and was very impressed with it. He spent alot of time researching before he bought it and wanted a Silverado pretty badly but money and performance took him to the Tundra.

I have a 6.0L Chevy I bought used for a steal

I'm running an 2006 2500HD 6.0. I have nothing else to compare it too, but it gets the job done pulling my 1 ton YJ on a 16ft dovetail loaded with tools. Gas mileage blows. I'm going to look into those tunes earlier in the thread, because it does feel like it it's a little sluggish towing sometimes.

Edit: got to love it when the stupid phone turns pictures upside down.
