Well figured I'll start a build thread. Will be slow going but going none the less. Plans are yj springs yota axles 36-39s nothing fancy. Eventually gonna get lower gears in the axles and case but just trying to get it going again first.

Got the springs hung. Getting a 6.5 case tomorrow and ordering psc steering kit. Is 1/4 sheet to thick for a bracing front or should I have went with 1/8? Got the rebuild kit for axels on the way.

What do you mean by bracing the front? 3/16 tends to be the right thickness for most frame fishplating etc. 1/8 is good for building sheetmetal style structures. 1/4 and 3/8 tend to be for brackets and such for mounting. Metal quality always counts of course and a little overkill never hurts in the high stress areas.

I used a mix of 3/16, 1/8 and 1/4" when plating, boxing and adding gussets to the front of Toyota frames.

Guess I should have worded better. Need to attach the 2x4 that I have tacked up on the front for the leaf spring hangers to the frame.

This is the way mine was done when it had 8" Housings, it was attached to the truss on one end, and the high steer on the other. I was this way when we bought it, seemed to work good.

how far forward did the yj springs move your axles? Im thinking of using them in my build until I can afford the 4-link setup I want in mine
I'd have to measure to be sure probably 4 or 5 inches or so. But if your gonna go four link I would just do that instead of wasting the money and effort to swap springs first.
