Not quite done yet but it's getting there, 1983 k30 P pump 12 valve, nv5600, divorced 205 out of an early 70s dodge, factory 60 and a Dana 80 in the rear. Still have to swap the rear gears to 4.10s to match the fronts and put a heavier clutch in it, when the boost comes on in 6th the clutch doesn't stand a chance and slips more than Biden trying to get onto Air Force 1.

Posted the truck a year ago or so. Got the bed on it and put a Move bumper on. Got a NV4500 and all the parts sitting in the garage just need to find some time. The 12v is still chuggin along, almost got 70k on the truck now

Any plans for compounds or anything? does the motor have any internal work done? I love my 12v.

I've thought about it because until the turbo gets lit it smokes like a freight train. A compound set up would help that out a bunch. Nothing super fancy, stock bottom end, 5x14 injectors, bigger delivery valves, #0 fuel plate, Napa special bhaf, hx35 turbo, 5" pipe.

Power driven has that ultimate towing compound set up I want so bad. I need to re gear mine though. 4:10's suck.

Yeah I've actually looked into that one but haven't quite decided what I'm gonna do. If I do go end up going to a compound set up I'll most likely go with their set up. I've got 315/75r16 that measure out to like 34.5" so I'm gonna swap to 4.10s since the stock gm 60 has 4.10s and see how I like it, I'd really like 3.73s. By doing that I'll only have to do one re gear. The 3.55s that are In the 80 are little long legged for puttin around town.

I want to swap to a higher gear. At 80 in my truck it's screaming and my mpg drop through the floor lol. Plus if I do get to do compounds need a little bit higher gear to get the full effect of the compounds and all the other **** that comes with it. Mine is already studded, valve spring, gov plate, afc live, and a few other things. the afc live made my truck come alive though. and it's so much easier tuning.

Hahaha I know that game, when I bought my 04 dodge the first thing I did to it was put a 5" straight pipe on it. With 4.10s at highway speed, and with stock sized tires it was unbearably loud. I put 35's on it and that helped a bunch. 100% agree on afc live, pretty much endless tuning ability.

I have 4.10s in my 12 valve K30 with 245/19.5s which are around 35". Perfect gear for that tire size IMO. I am also running a 62/65/12 turbo with 5x12 injectors. I popped a head gasket towing heavy with the HX35/40 Hybrid since it had too much drive pressure.

Good to know some real world data, like I said in a prior post, I'm gonna try swapping the Dana 80 gears and see how it works, cheaper and easier than swapping both. Yeah that's why arp head studs were one the first things I did, no sense in trying to build more power if ya can't keep it in the combustion chamber

popping a head gasket on a 12v is normal though lmao. it's also easy as hell to change one other than getting the head off. Did you stud yours? What turbo are you actually running and how does it tow? what's your egt's like? Good bottom end on the turbo?

I o-ringed and studded it. The turbo is a DPS Stage 1 62/65/12. The turbo hurt the bottom end slightly but it helped mid range and EGTs. I can still push the pyro past 1400 and if towing heavy, I watch it closely up big hills. The old HX35 turbo had a Super 40 wheel and housing. Total weight was just under 24k with the 38' gooseneck and it did great except for stopping. Small 1986 brakes and 35" tires are not the best combo. I did a 20 hour round trip to Clayton OK once with two buggies at almost 29k and it did fine. I have rebuilt the NV4500 a couple of times and had to get Slim at Clayton OK to build it once when bearings failed on the way out there. The NV4500 is definitely the weak link.

impressive sheets. wish they made them a little bigger.
No **** them bad ass I pulled a doge out the ditch today almost like that one. Ford power flashemifyougotem
