This was @onetoncrawler experience with one.Anybody running the Ford 7.3 gasser ? Thought someone had bought one on here. Any feed back ? I'm in the market for a new tow rig
Boy that took the wind outta my sails
Sorry about that.Boy that took the wind outta my sails
Well my Thing is I am selling my 2001 7.3. It runs great but getting rusty. I want a 17 and newer for aluminum body. I tow about 8 times a year and most of that is less than 50 miles round trip. I go to Harlan once a year which the diesel is awesome then. I've owned my 7.3 for nearly 12 years and put 57k on it. I have another vehicle I drive normally. With the fawking prices of trucks right now ya crazy. I was just trying save about 10k on a gasser but I sure don't wanna be wasting money and disappointed on my major purchase.Sorry about that.
For a daily driver (assuming you drive 20k miles or more a year) I could see the Gas vs Diesel argument leaning towards the Gas side with current fuel/gas prices and the perception of increased maintenance costs of a diesel.
Although my (6.7 F250) $100 oil change every 10k miles and $150 fuel filter change 20k miles is probably pretty close in overall costs to oil changes on a gas engine every 5000-7500 miles.
If it's not a daily driver or you tow heavy whenever you do tow, the Diesel wins out in my opinion.
