ya,
things are coming along pretty well.....a little on the slow side, but I'm still shooting for goldendale.....

oh, and I suck at the pictures.....I thought I had a bunch more, but....when I went to take them off the camera.....dunno WTF happened to them...

OH.....that reminds me....

THIS THREAD IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY MY SPONSORS....

www.4lockedfilms.com/

since the g-unit never answers his phone every time I try to return his camera....

anyway...
I should have the front of the chassis finished up this week (need to make the mounts on the x-member for the front links and finish up the tranny mounting)

this weekend should be thestart the rear suspension....

eh berne, like your signature, i played sunday morning coming down for Bunk while he was over the other day :redneck: was the front set up radius arm/ panhard? were in oregon are you? my mid-build snow wheeling trip to see my uncle in salem is planned for december. :D maybe we can go wheelin then and you can break trail for me with those big swampers if your close:D

I live around Canby....

for those that don't know the back story.....
the rig has been 'relatively' rock solid for the past few years, staying virtually unchanged for 3 years in a row now...
except for the motor mounts.....I've broken ALOT of them, and this last time, they both let go at the same time.....causing all sorts of problems....fan eating radiator....breaking the transfercase adapter mount.....
so, that.......combined w/ the fact that the body was......'not so straight' anymore....I basicallly got pissed off at it and decided it was time for a rebuild.

the front suspension will stay just the way it was, something between a 3 link and a wristed radius arm setup......only I'm getting away from the radius arm bushings I was running on the chassis end (originally went w/ them because they were cheap and easy) and going to the big rod ends.

the rear will be 4 link.......coil springs....at least for now...

then its going to get the M715 cab.......after alot of debate, I think I've settled on that.....the scout tub I've got was.....well, RUSTY....rustier than I remember'd....rustier than I want to deal with.

so, I'm in the middle of it now......should have the front half of the chassis (mounts, x-member, front suspension, etc...) done this weekend and start on linking the rear.

6 weeks 'til Goldendale....

"6 weeks 'til Goldendale...."

thats my 'official' goal....
its going to be tight....I'm hoping to make it, (and I don't want to start making excuses already), but there ALOT to do yet....I'm afraid its going to be the little details that wind up fawking me....

I know Mark.....I really didn't mean to disappoint you....I'll try and make it up to you sometime....

I'm hoping it comes out kinda cool either way though...

and I'll try to keep up on pictures.....I'm not used to taking pictures of everything, its hard to keep up on...

so....

in my for-thinking.....

I happened upon what I think will be something cool....

I found a "truck box / transfer tank" thing meant for the bed of a P/U on craigslist...
40 gallon fuel tank, and a tool box thing built in on top of it. I think I'm gonna go get that and build it into the chassis right behind the cab. its more fuel than I was thinking of carrying, but its got some built in storage (which will be super nice)....
problem being, the tank itself is flat, wide, and shallow, in the bottom of the box.....
BUT....it has a trasfer pump built into it.....
I'm thinking of coming up w/ some sort of "another" tank, to use as an accumulator tank......in the 1-2 gallon size......big enough that I'll have PLENTY of run time on just the accumulator tank before I need to get back to the flats to fill it back up....

thoughts....???

If you use that tank I would put at least two fuel pick ups in there, maybe more. APE in Texas sells them. But if it was me, I'd just use your Bronco tank. Is there a reason you can't?
