• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

cage mounted windshields

If the glass isn't cracked, just take it to any local glass shop and ask them to remove it. They have the tools for the job. Be aware that all removals (including glass shops) risk cracking or breaking the glass. It'll cost probably $20 and take them 10 minutes. SAVE yourself the heartache. When I painted my CJ a couple years ago, they did this for me and re-installed it afterwards. No tape lines for me! T.

I don't have pics at the moment, but my cage A-pillars come up through the top of the dash. I built a windshield frame out of angle stock and a piece of lexan is nestled inside. It has hinges so it can be folded down and removed, but no wipers.

It's survived a few rolls.:haha:

you cant do that, it makes too much sense.
naw when a guitar string is not available you can use a big rock.

frame is sliced up and in place. i lost almost 2" on overall width. now if i can just weld it without burning a million holes in it?

gonna skin over the top with sheet metal. no more hardtop or soft top for me. with full doors and the skined top on it stays warm to the top of the doors even in winter with the heater on full blast.

hard tops are for pussys.

anyone wanna buy one?

so what do you guys think i could get for my old cage minus the winch mount?
id like to recoup some of the cost for the new tube.
