new shop

It's been a while but finally I'm getting a shop.

After a few snags, first hole they started 16" down a pipe showed up. This pipe happen to an abandon steam line, so a sawall made quick work but not a good way to start. The drawings SUCK too, dimensions don't add up and notes that aren't relevant show up. Hopefully by Thanksgiving I'll have a shell with concrete, and then it's up to me for wiring, insulation and sheetrock.

The shop will be a 28'x28'x12' ceiling with 2 10'x10' doors. This turns out to be the biggest the city will allow, 25% of the back yard, and 15' in height (12'-10" eve instead of 14' eve).

Thing are taking a bit more shape.
Yes, these guys are slow but it's a side project and are making sure things stay very square as they go.

OOOOO, cooooncrete
Just a hand trowl finish. The plastic was there for wind and rain, of course it was sunny when they got about 1/2 done.
Now it's time to figure out how to seal it. I really like the Epoxy finishes but also seen what welding does to them, don't believe it's an option.
Anyone use a good sealer that doesn't burn?

I just had a shop built & was going to do the same thing. Talked to some people & they said that you need to do a moisture test on your concret. It needs to dry for atleast 30-60 day's. If it is not dry it will bubble & or peal off. I talked to Industial Coatings & Sealants,inc. They are in Mukilteo 425 742-3415.

i used them to seal some stone and a stone deck at my bosses house.

Well, finally some updates on the shop.
1 1/2 sides with 2 doors survived the last couple windstorms, wonder what it would be like if the shop was complete........wonder if it will ever be complete.

i worked for a guy buildin these over the summer and we put up buildings a little bigger than this including siding in 3 weeks with no concrete....you use these guys for price, build quality, or what?
