My friend Jon and Myself went out Saturday for some fun in the snow. Conditions were awesome with about 6-12" of fairly fresh powdery snow on top of anywhere from a 2-5ft base. Sun was out, very minimal wind, and very cold. We had some experience field repairing the brake on an 8274 after the retaining ring popped off while winching...finding those damn ball bearings in the snow was a ton of fun:rolleyes:

Towards the end of the day Jon wanted to take the "optional" line and I guess my tie rod wasn't liking life so it committed suicide:haha: and took my ram with it:mad: and also tried to dent my oilpan

After about an hour of creative winching we got it back to a driveable state and limped on home. Sorry for the small pics...thats the biggest size it would let me make them and I have some more pics that will try to get up later when I can access them.

Joe

It is a 1.125 x .188 tie rod...guess the ticket is 1.250 x .250 or maybe a chromo one :D

Crash if you remember we had a discussion about a year ago on why Parts Mike uses the weaker tierod design...I wasn't exactly sold on his idea and now I'm really not likin it:flipoff:

Like my motto goes

"overkill your steering" :;

Ya I recall that conversation. Looks like you guys had a good time..

Yeah up until then it was fun...now I have to get my ram fixed after the shaft snapped off. I am leaning towards the chromo T/R once I get a price back from Bunk...that should be overkill enough :D

(Oh...and those quick disconnects on the ram came in mighty handy)
