Well after researching the jasper page and GM site it appears a new one would be $2800 or so. Being that I am probably not going to keep the truck more than a few years I may just go the rebuild route... or just go with a new torque converter since that really seems to be the only issue I am...

I agree doubt there are many buggies that are as reliable as his and have the number of trail miles his has.
Did you consult a lawyer before you agreed to that? If you owned the road and they needed an easement they typically purchase it from landowner or whoever is needing the utility pays for it. I see it all the time.
Fuel pump died on dads TJ riding in the cove so we took the washer fluid bottle and stuck the hose in the 4.0L throttle body. Put gas in the washer tank and used the pump to purge fuel in. he drove it out the trail like this hitting the wipers to keep it going. was crazy. Pump didnt burn up...

I picked one up for the new years sale and so far is has been awesome! very quiet and seems to be efficient My cousin has been running one for his camper at the hunting camp all winter without any troubles. It sits right outside the camper and runs all night.
