Vertical Mills - Things to look at when buying.

I'm assuming you're buying used. You can quickly spend more in tooling than you'll pay for a mill, so if choosing between 2 that are close in price pick the one with the included extras. Try to avoid anything with drill marks/cuts in the table. Careless operators usually don't pay attention to...

    E-85

Silly question here, but how does a shade tree mech. test E85. I glanced over this thread than googled and everything I saw was a few thousand bucks and testing by a company taking over a month. Just wondering.

    Water in tires

A lot of people with tractors use windshield washer fluid for their tires. It's less than $2.00 a gallon so around $25 a tire or so, plus it won't freeze solid well below freezing, just slushes. Also doesn't rust steel wheels more of a concern with tractors than crawlers. Just an FYI

    Little generator (generec 2000)

I can't speak for the 2000 watt, but I have a 5500. I bought it early 09' during an ice storm that knocked out power for a week and a half. It ran 24/7 for 11-12 days without a hiccup. 6 years later I start it 2-3 times a year, second pull everytime. It gets an oil change and fresh fuel once a...

    2 probably stupid questions...

If you're gonna mess with CB's much you need a standing wave meter or swr. $20 or less on ebay, youtube for instructions. You have to adjust your antenna to mount/cable resistance by having a good mount with as much contact as possible, next adjust swr by adjusting cable length. Store bought...

    Trump for prez?

As long as the Electoral College is in effect your vote doesn't matter. A century ago we needed a system like that, but with the advent of real time communications and computers it's outdated and another way election results are skewed.

    SiriusXm

I've had satellite radio in 3 new cars now over the last 8 years. When the trial runs out I pay for it. I've never noticed any difference with factory radios, might be a difference with an aftermarket head unit, IDK.

    Plasma Cutter

I've got a Cut 40 as well. If you pull the cover off there's a contactor near the front of the machine on the bottom. It requires periodic adjustment. There's a brass screw on each side of it, 8mm I think. Loosen one bolt and tighten the other to move the contactor side to side in small...
