DONE! Disassembled it, cleaned it, epoxied the well plugs, reassembled, and installed.

    Quadrajet Carbs

I've read to use JB weld, or 5min epoxy. Just make sure its CLEAN. I'm on my way right now to get the rebuild kit and other supplies.

    Quadrajet Carbs

Mine starts up fine once there is fuel there. Its just when I let it sit over night, the float bowl is empty in the morning. I thought at first my check valve in the fuel pump was bad (new pump) but the more I research, the symptoms match leaking well plugs...:eeek:

    Quadrajet Carbs

Is anyone here really good with them? I think my well plugs are leaking. After letting the Jeep sit overnight, I have to crank and crank to re-prime the system. I have been doing research online and the symptoms of what I am experiencing are just like others have had when their well plugs are...

    Hunting season

Filled the freezer with some good meat. This guy was a porker! The Berger VLD 130gr did a good job (exit wound. Double lung.) Check out the layers of fat on him.

    Hunting season

We set up camp 18 miles off the highway over by Mazama every year. We're about a mile as the crow flies from the Pasayten Wilderness. From camp we head out in different directions. There is some good area all around us.

    Auto trans rebuilders

Dan Wills at TR Transmission (425) 387-2589) in Lake Stevens just built the trans for my Superduty. He is very knowledgeable and knows how to build a transmission that will last. Mine shifts better than it ever has. The torque converter is so smooth and locks up great. Quality work.

    Scratching my head....

Got it figured out! I spoke with my friend Dan who rebuilds transmissions for a living. He sat down and was in deep though for a minute and suddenly says "its in both a forward gear and reverse at the same time" He was right. The shift forks were not where they should of been. I had it fixed in...

    Scratching my head....

Well, since the Dana 300 input is splined, that does not apply. I am going to loosen the bolts holding the transmission to the bell housing and see if that frees it up.

    Scratching my head....

The T-case and Tranny were bolted together prior to putting into the Jeep. They both moved free and shifted fine. It was only after I joined them to the motor that they bound up. :corn:

    Scratching my head....

I recently built an AMC 304 for my CJ7. I ran the motor on a test stand to break it in etc, so I know its good. My tranny is a T-18 that I have had in the Jeep before, but just had it rebuilt. It was behind my inline 6 prior to this. The T-case is a Dana 300 that is clocked flat. The...
