Also if during a shock load the diff housing can and will flex allowing the sleeve to be crushed more. then when the flex back occurs you now have loose bearings and a pinon shaft walking back and forth.....with the pinon nut still tight.
speaking from first hand experience here. this...
in fact most aftermarket pinon shafts do not have a place for a crush sleeve, there is only room for shims.....even yukon have eliminated the sleeve.:D

after punching myself in the face a few times :redneck: i learned to assemble them using the 20T press.
you were spinning you tires pretty good for a few seconds as you were hung up, you backed off a little, steered a little, and tires bit and you were offf again. i do believe i heard the air go out as you were exiting the rockpile:redneck:

i need 20ea, steel grade 5, 7/16 NC X1 1/2" long bolts pre drilled for lockwire.
my full float rear axel's bolts keep working loose.
the 7/16" dia is what is hard to find even mcmasters does not list them.....

ohhh timing these engines can be a issue if you camnt get it to time using the book and the existing timing marks send me a PM. ill get ya through it. my method worked for aintstuck also....:D
